Rogue: Rooftop Jumper

A homebrew rogue subclass by DragonZaid.

You focus your training on speed, agility, and taking advantage of the heights made available to you by gracefully climbing and traversing buildings, trees, and natural terrain. Thieves, trouble-makers, adventurers, and thrill-seekers from both bustling cities and quiet villages comprise the archetypal Rooftop Jumper, and make for some of the most nimble-footed rogues.

Agility Training

At 3rd level, you are experienced with reaching and traversing rooftops and high places easily. You gain a climb speed equal to your walking speed and you can determine your jump distance using your Dexterity rather than your Strength.

Rooftop Strike

Also at 3rd level, you know how to make the most out of keen positioning in combat. You gain an additional way to use your Sneak Attack; you don't need advantage on the attack roll or an ally within 5 feet of your target to use your Sneak Attack against a creature if you are elevated at least 10 feet above it and you don't have disadvantage on the attack roll.

Additionally, if you are elevated at least 10 feet above one or more creatures, you can take the hide action against those creatures even if you are only lightly obscured from them, such as by foliage while atop a tree.

Extra Run Energy

At 9th level, you've sharpened your reactions and trained to run farther and faster than most others. You can give yourself a bonus to your initiative rolls equal to your proficiency bonus, and your walking speed increases by 10 feet.

The bonus to your walking speed increases to 15 feet when you reach 13th level and 20 feet when you reach 17th level.

Rooftop Thief

At 13th level, you've learned how to move and angle yourself to avoid being seen from below. Creatures have disadvantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks to locate you while you are elevated at least 10 feet above them.

Tuck and Roll

At 17th level, you have become a master of agility that is extraordinarily difficult to pin down. When you use your Cunning Action to take the dash or disengage action, you also gain the effects of the dodge action. Additionally, when you take fall damage, you can use your reaction to reduce the damage by an amount equal to three times your rogue level.
