You may choose your fighting practice from the following options or roll on the Fighting Styles to determine it randomly.
Great Weapon Practice
You’re practiced with putting the weight of a weapon to your advantage. You gain the following benefits:
- Grasping a two-handed weapon you are wielding in only one hand with your other hand no longer requires your object interaction.
- You gain the Great Weapon fighting dabble. If you already have this fighting dabble, you can use its features as a reaction on your turn instead of a bonus action.
Onslaught Practice
You’re practiced with using your momentum to your advantage. You gain the following benefits:
- When you would make an ability check to attempt to use the shove or trip attack replacers against a creature, you can make a melee weapon attack against the target's AC instead of a contested check. If you are wielding your weapon in two hands, you make this attack roll with advantage.
- You gain the Onslaught fighting dabble. If you can already take the Dash action as a bonus action, you can instead do so as a reaction on your turn.
Fighting Techniques
Certain class features, or the Fighting Technique feat, offer your choice of fighting technique. You don’t need the fighting practice that corresponds with the fighting technique in order to learn it, and you can't choose a fighting technique more than once, even if you later get to choose again.
You may choose your fighting technique from the following options or roll on the Fighting Styles table to determine it randomly.
Great Weapon Technique
You’re skilled in the techniques of putting the weight of a weapon to your advantage. You gain the following benefits:
- While you are wielding a two-handed melee weapon with which you are proficient, your weapon damage rolls gain a minimum roll threshold, discussed in chapter 7.
- On your turn, when you score a critical hit or reduce a creature to 0 hit points with a melee weapon attack, you can make one melee weapon attack as a bonus action.
- While you are wielding a two-handed melee weapon with which you are proficient, you have advantage on ability checks and saving throws to avoid being disarmed.
- While you are wielding a two-handed melee weapon with which you are proficient, before you make a melee weapon attack, you can choose to forgo your proficiency bonus. If the attack hits, you add twice your proficiency bonus to the attack's damage.
Onslaught Technique
You’re skilled in the techniques of using your momentum to your advantage. You gain the following benefits:
- The critical fail range of your overwhelm weapons increases by 1.
- When a creature falls prone within 5 feet of you, they provoke an opportunity attack from you.
- When you would have advantage on a melee weapon attack due to a creature being prone, you can reroll one of the dice once.
- When a prone creature within 5 feet of you attempts to stand, they provoke an opportunity attack from you.
- Once on each of your turns, if you move at least 10 feet in a straight line towards a creature immediately before hitting it with a melee weapon attack, you can deal additional damage equal to your proficiency bonus.
