Ancestry: Fairy

Among the Fey many fantastic peoples, including fairies. Fairies are a wee folk, but not nearly as much so as their pixie and sprite friends. The first fairies spoke Elvish, Goblin, or Sylvan, and encounters with human visitors prompted many of them to learn Common as well. They are tricksters like many fey, but are more prone to helping others than other fey. Fairies often live in small groups in tiny houses built into the sides of trees, often within fey forests or in places where they can conduct their trickery.

Infused with the magic of the Fey, most fairies look like Small elves with insectile wings, but each fairy has a special physical characteristic that sets the fairy apart.

Fairy Traits

Ability Score Increase. One ability score of your choice increases by 2, and another by 1, to a maximum of 20.

Age. Fairies mature at 12, and live to be around 200 years old.

Alignment. Being tricksters with good tendencies, fairies tend towards good and chaotic alignments.

Creature Type. You are a Humanoid. You are also considered a Fey for any prerequisite or effect that requires you to be a Fey.

Size. Fairies are around 1 foot tall. Your size is Tiny. The reduce effect of Enlarge/Reduce and similar effects that reduce your size category have no effect on you.

Speed. Your base walking speed is 20 feet.

Faerie Flight. Because of your wings, you have a 30 foot flying speed. You can't use this flying speed if you're wearing medium or heavy armor.

Fairy Magic. You know the Druidcraft cantrip. Starting at 3rd level, you can cast the Faerie Fire spell once as a 1st level spell. Starting at 5th level, you can also cast the Enlarge/Reduce spell once as a 2nd level spell. You must finish a long rest to cast these spells again with this trait. Charisma is your spellcasting ability for these spells.

Languages. You can speak, read, and write Common and one other language of your choice.
