Ancestry: Kitsune
Kitsune are a charismatic and witty people with a connection to the spiritual that grants them many magical abilities, chiefly the power to shapechange into other forms. Whether they pass unseen among other peoples or hold their tails high, kitsune are clever observers of the societies around them. They typically live among other peoples or in wild lands, and hardly gather in large groups.
Kitsune appear as humanoids with fox-like heads and 1-9 tails. They have either white, red, or black fur. Their eyes can be virtually any color, though brown, green, blue, red and yellow are most common.
Kitsune Traits
Ability Score Increase. One ability score of your choice increases by 2, and another by 1, to a maximum of 20.
Age. Kitsune mature at the same rate humans, living up to about 350 years.
Alignment. Kitsune are natural tricksters, leaning towards chaotic alignments.
Creature Type. You are a Humanoid. You are also considered a Fey for any prerequisite or effect that requires you to be a Fey.
Size. Kitsune range from under 5 to over 6 feet tall. Your size is Medium.
Darkvision. Thanks to your fey heritage, you have superior vision in dark and dim conditions. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can't discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.
Fey Ancestry. You have advantage on saving throws against being Charmed, and magic can't put you to sleep.
Kitsune Trickery. You know the Disguise Self spell, which you can cast on yourself at will. When you do so, your apperance is of a specific humanoid form of the same sex, or back into your true kitsune form. You choose your alternate form when you take this ancestry.
Foxfire. A crack of one or multiple of your tails sparks wisps of blue energy. They count as a simple ranged weapon with which you are proficient. They have a range of 15/30 feet.
You add your Constitution modifier, instead of your Strength modifier, to the attack and damage rolls when you attack with this attack. It deals 1d6 Fire damage on a hit.
You can use this feature a number of times per day equal to your proficiency bonus, after which you must complete a long rest to do so again.
Kitsune Skill. You gain proficiency with one of the following skills of your choice: Deception, Insight, Persuasion, or Performance.
Languages. You can speak, read, and write Common and Sylvan.
