Ancestry: Tabaxi
Hailing from a strange and distant land, wandering tabaxi are catlike humanoids driven by curiosity to collect interesting artifacts, gather tales and stories, and lay eyes on all the world's wonders. Ultimate travelers, the inquisitive tabaxi rarely stay in one place for long. Their innate nature pushes them to leave no secrets uncovered, no treasures or legends lost.
Tabaxi generally appear to be humanoids with fur and feline features, such as cat ears, cat face, claws, and a tail. Their fur and eyes come in a variety of colors similar to the cats they resemble.
Tabaxi Traits
Ability Score Increase. One ability score of your choice increases by 2, and another by 1, to a maximum of 20.
Age. Tabaxi have lifespans equivalent to humans.
Alignment. Tabaxi tend toward chaotic alignments, as they let impulse and fancy guide their decisions. They are rarely evil, with most of them driven by curiosity rather than greed or other dark impulses.
Creature Type. You are a Humanoid.
Size. Your size is Medium or Small. You choose your size when you choose this Ancestry.
Speed. Your base walking speed is 30 feet.
Darkvision. You have a cat's keen senses, especially in the dark. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can't discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.
Cat's Claws. Your claws are natural melee weapons, which count as simple melee weapons with which you are proficient. When you hit with them, the strike deals 1d6 + your Strength modifier Slashing damage, instead of the Bludgeoning damage normal for an unarmed strike.
Padfoot. You have proficiency in the Stealth skill.
Languages. You can speak, read, and write Common and one other language of your choice.
Leonin
The Leonin Tabaxi are lion-like humanoids known for their natural fighting prowess and leadership. Among Tabaxi tribes, the Leonin are often serve as the head or as the tribe's warriors, acting as the might of many Tabaxi tribes.
Leonin are humanoids with lion or tiger features and large, powerful builds.
Daunting Roar. As a bonus action, you can let out an especially menacing roar. Creatures of your choice within 10 feet of you that can hear you must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw or become Frightened of you until the end of your next turn. The DC of the save equals 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Constitution modifier.
Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a short or long rest.
Ferocity. You have proficiency in the Intimidation skill.
Stryder
The Stryder are speedy Tabaxi, the most playful and observant among their tribes. Stryder often act as scouts and diplomats, able to find and pick out small but important details with ease and efficiency.
Stryder generally have slimmer builds than other tabaxi, with the appearances of cheetahs or leopards.
Feline Agility. Your reflexes and agility allow you to move with a burst of speed. When you move on your turn in combat, you can choose to Dash as a bonus action. Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you move 0 feet on one of your turns.
Cat's Eyes. You have proficiency in the Perception skill.
