Ancestry: Centaur

Centaurs gallop throughout the multiverse and trace their origins to many different realms. Centaurs hail from strange places like the Feywild, and mystically resonate with the natural world, often residing in forests and other wild places.

From the waist up, they resemble elves, displaying all the elf varieties of skin tone. From the waist down, they have the bodies of much larger creatures, most commonly horses.

Centaur Traits

Ability Score Increase. One ability score of your choice increases by 2, and another by 1, to a maximum of 20.

Age. Centaurs mature and age at about the same rate as humans.

Alignment. As strong members of the natural order, centaurs are inclined toward neutrality.

Creature Type. You are a Fey.

Size. Centaurs stand between 7 and 8 feet tall, with their equine bodies reaching about 4 feet at the withers. Your size is Large.

Speed. Your walking speed is 40 feet.

Equine Build. Any climb that requires hands and feet is especially difficult for you because of your equine legs. When you make such a climb, each foot of movement costs you 4 extra feet instead of the normal 1 extra foot. If you later gain a climbing speed, climbing costs you only 2 extra feet instead of the normal 1 extra foot.

Charge. If you move at least 30 feet straight toward a target and then hit it with a melee weapon attack on the same turn, you can immediately follow that attack with a bonus action, making one attack against the target with your hooves.

Hooves. Your hooves are natural melee weapons, which you can use to make unarmed strikes. If you hit with them, you deal bludgeoning damage equal to 1d4 + your Strength modifier, instead of the bludgeoning damage normal for an unarmed strike.

Languages. You can speak, read, and write Common and Sylvan. Sylvan is widely spoken in the wilds and among the Fey, for it is rich in vocabulary to describe natural phenomena and spiritual forces.
