Ancestry: Human

In the reckonings of most worlds, humans are the youngest of the common races, late to arrive on the world scene and short-lived in comparison to dwarves, elves, and dragons. Perhaps it is because of their shorter lives that they strive to achieve as much as they can in the years they are given, or maybe they feel they have something to prove to the elder races, and that's why they build their mighty empires on the foundation of conquest and trade. Whatever drives them, humans are the innovators, the achievers, and the pioneers of the worlds; extremely adaptable in body and mind.

Prestige Ancestry: Superior Human

After years of ridicule for being among the weakest peoples of the world, despite their ability to adapt incredibly quickly compared to others and achieve much in their short lives, upon discovering cosmic travel and the greater danger it posed to humanity, some humans offered themselves up to arcane experiments that bore a new, superior tier of humanity to explore the cosmos.

Superior humans are much larger, supernaturally stronger and hardier, and they live double the normal age for a human. Superior humans often use their abilities to assist in construction and hauling, and in war, they serve on the front line. While they are better than others in most ways, superior humans still follow the leadership of the regular humans who command humanity's cosmic forces.

Prestige

The Superior Human is a Prestige Ancestry. It can be taken after character creation at any point when you would receive a Feat in place of taking a regular Feat. A character must meet the following prerequisites to do so:

  • You must have a Constitution score of 16 or higher.
  • You must be at least 10th level.
  • You must have the Human ancestry.
  • You can't already have a Prestige Ancestry.

Your DM might allow you to ignore the Constitution Modifier prerequisite, and may allow you to take this Prestige ancestry at 1st level.

Regardless of when you gain this ancestry, its features modify or add onto your base ancestry's. If a feature is present on both the prestige ancestry and the base ancestry, you take the version of the feature in the prestige ancestry. If you gain more than one prestige ancestry, you use the newest version of any feature it has that you previously gained.

Superior Human Traits

Superior Strength. Your Strength score increases by 1, to a maximum of 20.

Superior Lifespan. Superior Humans reach adulthood in their late teens and live slightly more than 200 years.

Cosmic Combatant. You have proficiency with one Exotic weapon of your choice.

Powerful Build. You count as one size larger when determining your carrying capacity and the weight you can push, drag, or lift.

Heavily Armored. You are proficient with heavy armor.

Relentless Endurance. When you are reduced to 0 hit points but not killed outright, you can drop to 1 hit point instead. Once you use this trait, you must complete a long rest to do so again.
