Obsessive Artist

You are misunderstood. You have always loved art in all of its forms. Contemporary. Cinema. Literature. Abstract. Performance. However, your brand of art seems to strike fear in the hearts of those who refuse to understand, who aren't inspired like you are. Your art comes at the end of a blade, and has elements of blood, screams, and violence.

You are a true artist. You will be the last thing they see.

Obsessive Artist Features

Ranger Level Features
3rd Crescendo, Perfect Canvas
9th Artistic Vision
13th Unspoken Truths
17th Opening Act

Crescendo

When you reach 3rd level, at the beginning of combat, pick a number or roll 2d20, these are your Truths. Whenever you roll to hit or make a saving throw, and the unmodified roll matches one of your Truths, you gain advantage on your next attack roll until the end of your next turn.

In addition, each time you roll a hit or saving throw, tally it. After 3 tallies you gain a Truth, and your next attack gains advantage until the end of your next turn and erase all your tallies. Do not erase tallies if you don't gain a Truth without using tallies.

Perfect Canvas

Also at 3rd level, at the beginning of combat, choose another creature you can see. That creature is your Obsession until the end of combat.

Whenever you roll a Truth, your Obsession add or subtract a d4 to or from their next attack roll.

In addition, when you make an attack within 10 feet of your Obsession, and you roll a Truth, add an additional d6 of damage to your roll.

When your Obsession becomes unconscious or dies, whenever you make an attack against a creature within 15 feet of your Obsession, add an additional d6 of damage to your roll.

Artistic Vision

Starting at 9th level, if you spend at least 1 minute conversing or interacting with another creature outside of combat, you can attempt to sway them to your artistic vision. Roll a charisma (Performance) against their insight (Wisdom). If they fail, they become charmed by you for 1 minute or until you attack them, they take damage, or fail another saving throw.

Unspoken Truths

Starting at 13th level, you roll an additional d20 or pick an additional number for your Truths.

Opening Act

At 17th level, you understand how to culminate your craft through your perfect canvas. On the first round of combat, after you have selected your Obsession, during your turn you may take one additional action. Or, on your Obsession's turn, they may take an additional action.

You deal an extra 1d6 weapon damage to your Obsession.

Obsessive Artist Quirks

The following are some optional quirks for a player of this subclass to choose from.

d6 Quirks
1 Your artistic vision leads you to pick up new, anxious habits.
2 You feel the need to display your art on your body, weapons, or create it live on the battlefield.
3 You turn down hit contracts that simply don't appease your inner artist.
4 There's always a mask on your face. After all, you hate attention.
5 You never speak directly to your obsession, only communicating with them discretely.
6 You prefer a particular method of violence when your art requires it. It leaves less of a mess.
