Kralnik

These insectoid creatures that I named Kralnik, are a milestone in my investigations in the most hidden places of my extraplanar travels. Living below the surface in the underworld, they make their colonies with hundreds of miles of them working and worshiping their Queens as if she were a deity.

The Kralniks begin their lives by giving birth in an egg laid by their respective Queen, hatching a few days later into a larva form and being cared for by the drones. Shortly after, they begin to adopt characteristics closer to the Queen who gave birth to them and later adopt an adult state. According to my research, this is not their last state since upon reaching the necessary maturity they can be promoted to Queen if they die.

Kralnik Base

As a Kralnik, you have the following racial traits.

Ability Score Increase. Increase one ability score by 2 and increase a different one by 1, or increase three different ability scores by 1.

Creature Type. You are a Monstruosity.

Size. You are Medium or Small. You choose the size when you select this race.

Speed. Your walking speed is 30 feet.

Compound Eyes. You are proficient in the Perception skill

Darkvision. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light and in darkness as if it were dim light. You discern colors in that darkness only as shades of gray.

Spider Climb. You have a climbing speed equal to your walking speed. In addition, at 3rd level, you can move up, down, and across vertical surfaces and upside down along ceilings, while leaving your hands free.

Swarm Telepathy. You can't speak any language. Instead you use telepathy to convey your thoughts. You can transmit your thoughts mentally to willing creatures within 120 feet of yourself. A contacted creature must be able to understand at least one language to understand you. Your telepathic link to a creature is broken if you and the creature move more than 120 feet apart, if either of you is incapacitated, or if either of you mentally breaks the contact (no action required).

Languages. You can speak, read, and write Undercommon.

Subraces

When you reach 3rd level, your body adopts characteristics more similar to those of your Queen, you must choose one of the following subraces. Additionally you gain the following traits:

Hive Mind. You are resistant to psychic damage and your mind cannot be read or you can be forced to reveal information by any means.

Mature Exoskeleton. While you aren't wearing armor, your carapace gives you a base Armor Class of 13 + your Constitution modifier. You can use a shield and still gain this benefit.

Ant

These have the characteristics of ants, they are normally used as workers and warriors of the hives.

Bonebreaker Jaws. Your jaws are a natural weapon, which counts as a simple weapon that you are proficient with. This deals 1d6 piercing damage on a hit. If you used the attack action on your turn, you can use your bonus action to make an additional attack with this weapon.

Sleepless. You do not require sleep and can remain conscious during a long rest, though you must still refrain from strenuous activity to gain the benefit of the rest.

Powerful Build. You count as one size larger when determining your carrying capacity and the weight you can push, drag, or lift.

Beetle

These are used as transport or as warriors, they are large Kralniks capable of destroying and carrying any prey.

Harassing Pincers. You have additional pointed and sharp appendages, which you can use to make unarmed strikes. If you hit with it, you deal piercing damage equal to 1d8 + your Strength modifier, instead of the normal bludgeoning damage for an unarmed strike. Once per turn, when you hit a creature with these pincers you can attempt to grapple the target.

Oversize. Your size is now Large.

Reinforced Carapace. When you use the Mature Exoskeleton trait, your AC is now equal to 10 + Strength modifier + Constitution modifier.

Cockroach

These are the descendants of the Queen of the most disgusting vermin and with greater vitality.

Accelerated Regeneration. Your severed body members (fingers, legs, tails, and so on), if any, are restored during a long rest. If you have the severed part and hold it to the stump for one minute, your rapid regeneration causes the limb to knit to the stump.

Elusive Vitality. Your hit point maximum increases by 1, and it increases by 1 every time you gain a level.

Relentless Endurance. When you are reduced to 0 hit points but not killed outright, you can drop to 1 hit point instead and this single hit point can't be reduced until the end of your next turn. If at the end of your next turn you have not regained hit points in any way, your hit points are reduced to 0, immediately falling unconscious. You can't use this trait again until you finish a long rest.

Moth

These are the most beautiful Kralnik in the hive, usually used as servants of the queens.

Flight. You have a flying speed equal to your walking speed. You can't use this flying speed if you're wearing medium or heavy armor.

Illusory Appearance. As a bonus action, you cover yourself and anything you are wearing or carrying with a magical illusion that makes you look like another creature of your same size and humanoid shape. The illusion ends if you use a bonus action to end it or if you are unconscious. The changes wrought by this trait fail to hold up to physical inspection.

Wink of Nobility. When you make any Charisma check out

of combat, you can do so with advantage.

You can also use these abilities in combat to alter the battlefield in your favor. As a bonus action you can do a Charisma check against a creature of your choice. The DC for this skill check equals 10 + double its proficiency bonus. If you succeed, the creature is unfocused until the end of its next turn. When the creature is unfocused and attempts to attack you or with a harmful spell, it must first make a wisdom saving throw, using the result of your roll as the DC. On a failed save, the creature must choose a new target or lose the attack or spell. This effect does not protect you from area effects, such as the explosion of a fireball.

You can use this trait a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.

Mosquito

These come from a Queen of Blood, always looking for prey to latch onto and suck her blood.

Bloodsucker. Your proboscis is a natural weapon, this counts as a simple melee weapon with the finesse property. If the attack hits, it deals 1d4 piercing damage and you regain hit points equal to the damage dealt. You cannot regain hit points over your hit point maximum with this trait, and you can use this trait a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, regaining all use after you finish a long rest.

Flight. You have a flying speed equal to your walking speed. You can't use this flying speed if you're wearing medium or heavy armor.

Flyby. You don't provoke opportunity attacks when you fly out of an enemy's reach

Scarab

These are normally used as siege weapons for the swarm, their cause of death is always usually falls but they love their job.

Bounce. You have proficiency in the Acrobatics or Athletics skill.

Cannonball. If you are using Mature Exoskeleton, with a bonus action you can retract into yourself. Until you use another bonus action to emerge from your shell, you have advantage on Constitution saving throws, but disadvantage on Dexterity saving throws, you are prone but your speed does not suffer a penalty.

In this form, your walking speed is doubled and if you haven't moved during the turn you can make a special unarmed attack, propelling yourself towards a creature or object, treating your walking speed as the range of this attack. When you attack you move in a straight line towards the target and make the attack roll. If it hits you cause 2d6 bludgeoning damage, immediately after making the attack you fall to the ground.

Siege Creature. You deal double damage to objects and structures with your attacks.

Customization. You can customize the appearance of these subraces for more flavor, a Scarab can be a Grasshopper for example you can even give it the Monster Girls flavor.
