The Moon Dancer

Inspired by the celestial dance of the moon, the Moon Dancer embodies the ever-changing nature of the lunar cycle, harnessing its power to enhance their martial prowess. Through discipline and mastery, they synchronize their ki with the phases of the moon, unlocking unique abilities that reflect its symbolism and granting them unparalleled versatility in combat.

Moon Synchronization

As you delve into the mysteries of ki and the celestial dance of the moon, you find yourself drawn to its ever-changing phases. With focused meditation and discipline, you synchronize your inner energies with the four distinct faces of the moon. Each phase brings forth its own essence, granting you unique abilities that mirror the symbolism of new beginnings, growth, culmination, and release.

At 3rd level, you learn to synchronize your ki with the four phases of the moon, allowing you to tap into their unique powers. Choose one of the following moon phases: New Moon, Waxing Crescent, Full Moon, or Waning Gibbous. You can change your chosen phase during a short or long rest, or by spending 1 ki point.

New Moon: You gain advantage on Stealth checks. In Addition when you miss an attack roll, you can spend 1 ki point to reroll your attack roll.

Waxing Crescent: You gain advantage on Acrobatics checks. In Addition when you hit a creature with your monk weapon or unarmed strike, you can spend 1 ki point to deal additional Martial Arts die of damage.

Full Moon: You gain advantage on Athletics checks. In Addition when you hit a creature with your monk weapon or unarmed strike, you can spend 1 ki point to roll the damage die twice and take the higher result.

Waning Gibbous: You gain advantage on Insight checks. In Addition you can spend 1 ki point to end a condition you are affected by.























Moonlit Strikes

Your connection to the moon's phases deepens, intertwining with your martial prowess. Embracing the power of each phase, you find yourself imbued with enhanced capabilities that reflect their symbolism. With every strike and movement, you embody the essence of new beginnings, progress, fulfillment, and transformation, harnessing the full spectrum of lunar energy in your combat techniques.

At 6th level, your connection to the phases of the moon deepens, granting you additional powers that reflect the symbolism of each phase.

New Moon: Your monk weapon and unarmed strikes deal an additional 1d6 force damage. This force represents the unseen potential and energy of new beginnings.

Waxing Crescent: Your monk weapon and unarmed strikes deal an additional 1d6 psychic damage. This psychic energy represents the mental fortitude and advancement of the mind during times of growth and progress.

Full Moon: Your monk weapon and unarmed strikes deal an additional 1d6 radiant damage. This radiant energy represents the illuminating fulfillment and realization of one's potential.

Waning Gibbous: Your Your monk weapon and unarmed strikes deal an additional 1d6 necrotic damage. This necrotic energy represents the transformative release and letting go of old burdens.

Lunar Awakening

As your mastery over the moon's phases grows, so too does your understanding of their profound significance. With this heightened awareness comes the ability to channel advanced techniques that embody the essence of each phase. Through these techniques, you manifest the renewing energy of the new moon, the resilient spirit of the waxing crescent, the empowering light of the full moon, and the ethereal transcendence of the waning gibbous.

At 11th level, your mastery over the phases of the moon allows you to access advanced abilities that embody the symbolism of each phase.

New Moon: Spend 2 ki points to gain the ability to teleport up to 30 feet to an unoccupied space that you can see as a bonus action for 1 minute. This ability reflects the veil of mystery and potential for new beginnings associated with the new moon.

Waxing Crescent: Spend 2 ki points to gain the ability to cast haste on yourself as a bonus action. This ability reflects the emphasis on growth, agility, and rapid progression during the waxing crescent phase.

Full Moon: Spend 2 ki points to gain resistance to bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage as a bonus action for 1 minute. This ability reflects the embodiment of strength, resilience, and communal spirit of the full moon.

Waning Gibbous: Spend 2 ki points to gain the ability to displace yourself in and out of reality, making all attack rolls against you have disadvantage as a bonus action for 1 minute. This ability reflects the ethereal nature and freedom of the waning gibbous phase.

If you switch between moon phases while one of these abilities is active, the effect ends, and you must spend 2 ki points again to activate the ability for the new phase you are on.

Lunar Ascendance

At the pinnacle of your training, you unlock the ultimate expression of your connection to the moon. Through profound meditation and disciplined practice, you attain the ability to undergo a powerful transformation, harnessing the full power of the lunar cycle. As you shift between forms, you embody the mystical qualities of each phase, becoming a living embodiment of the moon's influence upon the world. In this ascended state, you wield unmatched martial prowess, drawing upon the boundless energy of the celestial dance to overcome any obstacle in your path.

At 17th level, you unlock the ability to undergo a powerful transformation, harnessing the full power of the phases of the moon.

New Moon: Spend 3 ki points to transform into a shadowy form for 1 minute and gain the following benefits.

  • You gain immunity to force damage.
  • Your monk weapon and unarmed strikes deal an additional 2d6 force damage.
  • As a reaction when you miss an attack roll you can reroll your attack roll.
  • you are able to teleport up to 30 feet to an unoccupied space that you can see as a bonus action

Waxing Crescent: Spend 3 ki points to transform into a spectral form for 1 minute and gain the following benefits.

  • You gain immunity to psychic damage.
  • Your monk weapon and unarmed strikes deal an additional 2d6 psychic damage.
  • You can add your Martial Arts die to the damage roll.
  • You are under the effect of haste.

Full Moon: Spend 3 ki points to transform into a radiant form for 1 minute and gain the following benefits.

  • you gain immunity to radiant damage.
  • your monk weapon and unarmed strikes deal an additional 2d6 radiant damage.
  • Your roll the damage die twice and take the higher result.
  • You gain resistance to bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage.

Waning Gibbous: Spend 3 ki points to transform into an ethereal form for 1 minute and gain the following benefits.

  • You gain immunity to necrotic damage.
  • Your monk weapon and unarmed strikes deal an additional 2d6 necrotic damage.
  • You can end a condition you are affected by.
  • You can displace yourself in and out of reality, making all attack rolls against you have disadvantage

If you switch to a different moon phase before the duration expires, the remaining duration carries over to the new phase.
