Monk, Way of Elucidation

Divergent Sila

  • 3rd Level. Your extensive studies grants you affinity with lost skills. You learn one language and gain one skill proficiency of your choice, gaining an additional language and an additional skill proficiency at 6th and 11th level.
  • 6th level. You gain a bonus to your ability checks using Intelligence or made against analyzed targets equal to your Wisdom modifier (min. 1).
  • 17th level. Your memory becomes perfect, allowing you to recall anything you’ve seen or heard since gaining this feature.

Ten Prajnas

At 3rd level, you can effectively study creatures from the fold of combat and observation while unarmored. You analyze creatures by deliberately observing the target for 1 minute, touch the target as an action, hit the target with an unarmed strike, be successfully targeted by an attack or effect from the target, or start your turn under an effect from the target. Each target can only be analyzed once per round.

Each time you analyze a target, you learn information from the table below either by a d10 roll (rerolling until you get a unique result) or by the DMs choice.

d10 Information Learned
1 Armor class, hit points, and proficiency bonus
2 All ability scores
3 All vulnerabilities, resistances, and immunities
4 All saving throw bonuses
5 All movement speeds, all senses, and creature type
6 6. Skills bonuses and languages
7 7. All abilities, spellcasting, and spells
8 8. All actions, bonus actions, reactions, and attacks
9 9. All legendary actions, legendary resistances, lair actions, mythic actions, and regional effects
10 10. Deeper insight as to the origins and functioning of any other information learned from this table (before and after this is rolled).

Turn of Dharmachakra

while you are wearing no armor and not wielding a shield, you gain the following benefits:

  • 3rd Level. Your analysis creates once impossible openings when a target misses you with an attack or you succeed on a saving throw it subjected you to, allowing you to make an unarmed strike against them as a reaction.
  • 6th Level. For each time a target has been analyzed, you gain a +1 bonus to your attack rolls, damage rolls, and ki save DC against that target and the target suffers a -1 penalty to its attack rolls, damage rolls, and save DCs against you. The maximum of the bonuses and penalties is equal to half your monk level rounded down.
  • 11th level. Once per triggering effect, if you’ve already taken your reaction, you may spend 1 ki point to take an additional reaction.

Divining Samadhi

At 11th level, you can draw out the hidden truths from all things, animate or otherwise. As an action, you can replicate the effects of the following spells as an action by spending ki points equal to the original spell’s level: Comprehend Languages, Detect Evil and Good, Detect Magic, Detect Poison and Disease, Identify, or Zone of Truth.

If the original spell has the ritual tag, you can instead conduct a 10-minute ritual to replicate the effects (you do not spend ki points this way).

Sacred Treasures

At 17th level, the depth of your understanding has become so rooted as to give you a deeply fundamental understanding of that which you analyze. Once per round, you can attempt use an attack or an action belonging to another creature that is within your reach and that you have analyzed at least 5 times by spending 2 ki points. Alternatively, you can gain an ability belonging to a creature meeting this condition at the start of your turn by spending 2 ki points, lasting until the end of your next turn. That creature cannot use that attack, action, or ability respectively until the end of your next turn. An unwilling creature can resist this feature by succeeding on a Charisma saving throw, however, this does not waste the attack, action, or ki points you would have used from the attempt.

If the attack, action, or ability deals damage, you can change the damage type to that of your unarmed strikes, and the damage is treated as magical for the purposes of overcoming resistances and immunities. Attack rolls made use your unarmed strike bonus to hit. Saving throw DCs use your Ki save DC.
