Circle of Savagery

Circle of Savagery

Druids of the circle of Savagery find bliss in the last moments of the object of their hunts. They pay homage to the natural cycle and survival of the fittest. To return balance to a land devoid of predators and cull overpopulation of prey.

These druids live within nature as it's predator, one to aid in the important task to make sure that prey do not become too abundant. In this way do the druids of the circle of Savagery keep the balance of an ecosystem which they inhabit.

Druids in this circle revere predators in the wild, and pay special attention to monstrous beings that inhabit the lands they range. They learn from the savage nature of such beings and imitate them whenever they must fight. These druids are particularly protective of their groves and lands and as such usually travel alone or with small groups of two or three.

  • You become proficient with the Athletics or Acrobatics skill, Your proficiency bonus is doubled for any ability check you make that uses the chosen skill

Primal Aspect

  • You can cast the primal savagery cantrip as a bonus action after making a weapon attack.

  • You gain temporary hit points equal to twice your druid level + your Wisdom modifier

Savage Strikes

6th-level Circle of Savagery feature

By channeling the primal energies of the land your attacks, while using your Primal Aspect, count as magical for the purpose of overcoming resistance and immunity to nonmagical attacks and damage. Additionally you can attack twice, instead of once, whenever you take the Attack action on your turn.

Monstrous Aspect

10th-level Circle of Savagery feature

The primal nature of your being alters you further when you assume your Primal Aspect, the alterations to your body give you more options when you transform. While you assume your Primal Aspect you gain a swim speed equal to your movement speed and you can breathe underwater. Additionally choose one of the following benefits that last while you assume your Primal Aspect.

Aspect of the Owlbear. The tough hide of the owlbear protects you. The temporary hit points you gain when you use your Primal Aspect doubles. Additionally you gain a bonus to your AC equal to your Wisdom modifier.

Aspect of the Manticore. You grow reactive spikes like those of a manticore. Whenever a creature within 100 ft of you hits you with an attack, that creature takes piercing damage equal to your proficiency bonus so long as you're not incapacitated

Aspect of the Displacer Beast. You project an illusion that stands near you, causing attacks against you to have disadvantage so long as you're not incapacitated

Aspect of the Tarrasque. You manifest the mighty form of the legendary monstrosity. Your reach increases by 5 feet, and if you are smaller than Large, you become Large, along with anything you are wearing. If there isn't enough room for you to increase your size, your size doesn't change.

Primal Stalwart

14th-level Circle of Savagery feature

Your primal power alters you further: while you assume your Primal Aspect you have resistance to bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage. Additionally, when you assume your monstrous aspect you gain additional benefits depending on the aspect you choose:

Aspect of the Owlbear. The first creature you hit with an attack on your turn is provoked by your presence. Until the start of your next turn, that target has disadvantage on any attack roll that isn't against you. Additionally, when the target hits a creature other than you with an attack, you may use your reaction to make an attack with your primal savagery.

Aspect of the Manticore. You gain a 50 ft fly speed as leathery wings sprout from your back. Additionally the range of your natural weapons and primal savagery are extend to 100 ft.

Aspect of the Displacer Beast. When you are subjected to an effect that allows you to make a Dexterity saving throw to take only half damage, you instead take no damage if you succeed on the saving throw, and only half damage if you fail.

Aspect of the Tarrasque. Any time you are targeted by a magic missile spell, a spell ranged attack, or similar magical effect, you can use your reaction to roll a d6. On a 4 or higher, you are unaffected by magic missile, and the attack instead misses you, regardless of its roll.
