# Way of the Firmament ## Most practicioners of martial arts limit themselves to the study of the body's energy, and the pathways through which it flows. Few of them stop to ponder on how this energy flows through the natural world, and fewer yet dare to venture past the earth, and look into the sky. The Monks of the Way of the Firmament understand that the key to true enlightenment lies in the complete utter understanding of the universe; for understanding means domination. As such, they seek to mimic the unfathomable phenomena that govern the cosmos, in hopes of one day achieving true harmony with all of creation. ## ### Knowledge of the Cosmos The abilities granted to you by your monastic tradition are based on your understanding of the fundamental laws of the universe; beginning at 3rd level, you gain proficiency in the arcana skill if you don’t already have it, and your proficiency bonus is doubled whenever you make an Arcana check. Additionally, you can choose to use your Wisdom modifier instead of your intelligence modifier for your Arcana checks. ### Starbuster Fist At 3rd level, you gain the ability to increase your fists’s Ki density to mimic the core of a star. This causes them to generate a gravitational field that increases your accuracy, bu pulling your foes closer to you. When you use your flurry of blows bonus action, you can choose to replace one of your unarmed strikes with a special melee attack. Its attack and damage bonuses are calculated as if it were a regular unarmed strike. You have advantage on this attack, which deals force damage equal to two rolls of your martial arts die. ### Repulsive Field Starting at 6th level, you learn how to imbue yourself with negative mass, causing the formation of a field of anti-gravity that protects you from harm. As a reaction to being targeted by a melee attack, you can spend a Ki point to increase your AC against all melee attacks by an amount equal to your wisdom modifier. This increase lasts until the start of your next turn ### Event Horizon At 11th level, your mastery of the universe lets you recreate the destructive power of a black hole, and contain it within your body. As an action, you can spend 4 ki points and cast the Gravity Sinkhole spell. When cast this way, it utilizes your Monk Save DC as its Spell Save DC, and it has no components. Additionally, the spell's volume of effect is always centered on yourself, though you can choose to exclude any number of creatures that you can see from its effects. \columnbreak ### Dance of the Firmament At 17th level, you finally gain full mastery over the fundamental forces of reality. - you gain the ability to hover 5 feet off of the ground. This lets you ignore most forms of difficult terrain. - When you take the attack action, you can choose to make an extra Starbuster First attack as part of that action, for a total of two normal attacks and one Starbuster Fist attack. If you choose to do so, you cannot use the flurry of blows feature until the start of your next turn. - When you use the flurry of blows feature, both the attacks you make with it are Starbuster Fist attacks. Additionally, you can cast the Reverse Gravity spell, without spell components. You can cast the spell in this way once per long rest, or alternatively you can spend 7 ki points to cast it again.
