El Luchador
Some stars must be center stage. Flexing, showing off, and putting on a show. These performers use masks to signify their roles and tell the story they are in.
The El Macho Luchador uses magical masks to perform their role and engage the crowd. They adventure into the world, seeking a story and action to be a part of.
Empowering Mask
3rd-level El Luchador Fighter feature
You gain access to a suite of magical character masks that grant you powers. As a bonus action you can put on or remove a mask you are wearing. While the mask is on, you gain the chosen benefits until you remove it and can activate any of its powers. To activate these powers you must spend a Mask Flex, and others require a Saving throw.
Predator - You don a mask that resembles a predatory animal or monster. While wearing this mask you gain the following benefits:
- You have advantage on Perception checks.
- You gain a 10 feet of movement. You can only use this movement to jump.
- Empowering Roar: As a bonus action you can spend a Mask Flex and growl deeply. Creatures of your choice within 15 feet gain a special d6. This d6 can be added a damage roll they make within the next minute.
Demon - You don a mask with the cruel frown of a devil. While wearing this mask you gain the following benefits:
- You have advantage on Intimidation checks.
- You gain the ability to float up to 5 feet of the ground. If you ever fall, you fall at a rate of 60 feet per round, take no falling damage, and can land on your feet.
- Wailing Screech: As a bonus action you spend a Mask Flex blast a scream into a 15 foot cone. Creatures in the cone must succeed a Charisma Saving throw against your Mask Save DC or subtract 1d4 from its attack rolls and saving throws until the start of your next turn.
Dramatic Mask - You don a mask showing a simple emotion. While wearing this mask you gain the following benefits:
- You have advantage on Acrobatics checks.
- While moving you gain a +2 bonus to your AC and Dexterity Saving throws. This benefit stops when you stop moving.
- All Eyes On Me - As a bonus action you can spend a Mask Flex to attract the ire of others. Creatures of your choice within 15 feet of you must make a Wisdom Saving throw against your Mask Save DC. On a failure they have disadvantage on attacks against creatures other than you until the end of your next turn and when they use their movement they must move towards you.
Mask Save DC = 8 + your Charisma Modifier + your Proficiency Bonus.
You have a number of Mask Flexes equal to your Charisma modifier and regain all uses on a short or long rest.
Showman!
3rd-level El Luchador Fighter feature
You pump up and show off when you fight. When you succeed on an attack roll, ability check, or saving throw while wearing a mask, you can do one of the following:
- You cause a shower of sparks or cause sourceless lights to illuminate your body.
- You cause a burst of wind to swirl up, down, or around you.
- You create a simple flavor in one creature of your choice within 60 feet.
- You briefly create a simple odor those within 60 feet can smell.
- You briefly create the sound of a crowd or a musical melody.
- A pattern of your choice etches itself in the loose dirt within 5 feet of you.
- You create a small or tiny object you can interact with for 1 round. The object is clearly the product of magic and glows slightly.
Strike a Pose
3rd-level El Luchador Fighter feature
As an action, you can strike a pose, giving yourself advantage on your next performance check.
HERE COMES THE PAIN TRAIN
7th-level El Luchador Fighter feature
You roll with the punches and punch with the rolls. Once per turn while wearing your mask you can deal an additional 1d6 damage when you hit with an attack.
In addition, you can take off one mask and replace it with another as an action. At 18th level you can switch your mask at the beginning of your turn (no action required).
Signature Move!
10th-level El Luchador Fighter feature
You know what fires up the audience. You have a signature move that makes the crowd go wild. You can use your action to make a special weapon attack. You have advantage on the attack roll and if the attack hits it deals an additional 4d6 damage. Depending on what mask you are wearing, grants an additional effect:
Predator - When you hit the creature a shockwave of force erupts it. All creatures in 30 feet of the target (not including you) have to make a Strength save against your Mask Save DC or be pushed back 5 feet and knocked prone.
Demon - When the attack hits an aura of dread floods from the creature. Creatures within 30 feet must succeed on a Wisdom Saving throw against your Mask Save DC or become frightened until the end of your next turn. Until the end of your turn you become ethereal and can move through other creatures and objects as if they were difficult terrain. If you end your turn inside an object or creature you take 1d10 force damage are pushed to the nearest way out of it.
Dramatic - When you hit the creature it must make a Constitution Saving throw save or become stunned until the end of your next turn. You and creatures of your choice within 30 feet of you gain temp HP equal to the 4d6 you rolled.
Once you use this feature you can’t use it again until you finish a short rest or long rest.
SHOW’S NOT OVER YET!
15th-level El Luchador Fighter feature
You recover not just hit points, but GLORY. Whenever you use your second wind feature, you regain one Mask Flex.
In addition, the radius of all of your mask’s active features increased to 30ft.
Le Grand Denouement
18th-level El Luchador Fighter feature
When you hit a creature with an attack, if the damage would reduce their HP to 50 or less, you can choose to knock them unconscious. Their HP drops to 0, they fall unconscious but are stabilized.
Once you use this feature, you can’t use it again until you finish a long rest.
