Guardian's Blessing
Starting at 1st level you are blessed by a guardian that has manifested themselves within the shadows. You gain proficiency in the Stealth skill and can attempt to hide without being behind cover so long as you are in dim light or darkness.
Brand of Shadows
At 1st level, you gain the ability to place a branding curse on a target of your choice. As a bonus action, choose one creature you can see within 30ft of you. The target is branded for 1 minute. If the branded target dies you can move the brand onto a new target using a bonus action. The brand ends early if you die, or you are incapacitated. Until the brand ends, you gain the following benefits:
- The first time you hit the branded creature on each of your turns with an attack the target takes 1d6 extra damage. The extra damage is necrotic or radiant; you choose the type of damage when you gain this feature. This damage increases to 2d6 at 6th level, 3d6 at 10th level and 4d6 at 14th level.
- While within 10ft of the branded creature you gain the benefits of half cover.
You can’t use this feature again until you finish a short or long rest.
Shadow Stride
Starting at 6th level, you gain the ability to travel briefly through shadows. As a bonus action you magically teleport up to 30ft to an unoccupied space you can see. Immediately after you use your shadow stride you can attempt to hide (no action required).
You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses after a long rest.
Veil of the Dark
At 10th level the Black Guardian places a protective veil over you while you are in dark areas. While within dim light or darkness attacks against you are made at disadvantage until you take damage, you die or are incapacitated. If you take damage, attacks against you are no longer made with disadvantage until the start of your next turn.
Additionally, you can take the hide action as a bonus action.
Unexpected Ambush
Starting at 14th level you can call to the Black Guardian to protect you and your allies by potentially preventing an attack. As a reaction to you or an ally with 60ft of you being targeted by an attack the Black Guardian can appear. The Black Guardian makes an attack roll using your spell attack modifier. If the attack hits it deals 6d8 radiant or necrotic damage (chosen based on your Brand of Shadows), the target then must make a Constitution saving throw using your spell save DC or be stunned until the end of start next turn.
Once used, you cannot use this feature again until you finish a short or long rest.
