Arcane Suitability

The study of magic is quite an undertaking, as every Wizard who has ever attempted to unravel the arcane arts can attest. But even the most studious and well practiced wizards can struggle with certain schools of magic while fully grasping another. A Wizards Arcane Suitability is determined by their subclass, and determines their Affinity, Adequacy and Ineptitude in different schools of magic.

Each subclass contains 3 schools of magic in which they have Affinity with. When a Wizard has an Affinity in a school of magic, they can prepare an additional number of spells from that school equal to half their proficiency.

Each subclass contains 2 schools of magic in which they are Adequate with. When a Wizard has Adequacy in a school of magic, they can prepare and use the spells from that school as any other spell caster.

Each subclass contains 3 schools of magic in which they are Inept with. When a Wizard has Ineptitude in a school of magic, the spells from that school take up an additional slot when preparing your spells for the day.

Subclass Changes

The Abjuration, Conjuration, Divination, Enchantment, Evocation, Illusion, Necromancy and Transmutation subclass have been removed. These schools of magic have been rearranged and combined into 4 new subclasses called Alteration, Conjuration, Observation and Restoration.
