Ranger Conclave

Dumpster Diver Conclave

"gold... in the unlikeliest of places. heh let me show you a path of true treasure"

~ From the dual blade chronicles, chapter 79

One mans trash must certainly be treasure to someone and none live more by this creed than the Dumpster Diver Conclave rangers. Moving naturally through the refuse of society as easily as most rangers do through the trees and forests, you know that even in the filth of civilisation, much value can be found for those who know where to look.

Conclave Spells

Starting at 3rd level, you learn an additional spell when you reach certain levels in this class, as shown in the Dumpster Diver Spells table. The spell counts as a ranger spell for you, but it doesn't count against the number of ranger spells you know.

Dumpster Diver Spells
Ranger level Spells
3rd grease
5th protection From poison
9th stinking cloud
11th vitriolic sphere
15th contagion

Trash to Splinters

beginning at 3rd level, your tendency to find treasure amongst everyones trash has lead you to find use in almost anything you can hold. You gain proficiency in improvised weapons, whenever you hit with a improvised weapon, roll 1d4 and add the result to your weapon’s damage roll. If you roll a 4 on the die, roll another d4 and repeat the process.

Dumpster Dive

Also at 3rd level, your knack for finding is absurd. You can spend 10 minutes searching in a populated area after which you roll 1d10 and find the corresponding item from the Dumpster Dive Table at the end of this subclass. After your next long rest the item is lost returned to the great trash heap in the sky after which you may use this feature again.

Additionally, you can make the Search action as a bonus action.

Residual Grime

At 7th level, not everything you handle is exactly sanitary. When you deal at least 2d4 damage using an improvised weapon the targeted creature must make a Constitution saving throw. On a failed save, The creature is poisoned for 1 minute. A creature may remake this saving throw at the end of each of their turns.

Additionally, if you deal at least 4d4 damage using an improvised weapon the targeted creature has disadvantage on the saving throw.

Trash Hoarder

At 11th level, you feel unable to choose when deciding what you would like to pull from the rubbish. When you use your Dumpster Dive feature you can roll twice and take both items.

Uncover Sentimentality

At 15th level, as an action, you can attempt to retrieve an item that holds great nostalgic value to a creature that you can see within 30 feet of you. They must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw against your spell save DC or must spend their next turn attempting to retrieve this item at all costs. For the next minute, the creature has disadvantage on all attack rolls against you until the item is retrieved or broken. If you use said item as an improvised weapon for an attack roll on a hit, the item breaks and deals an additional 1d4 damage for every result of 2, 3, and 4.

You can use this feature once per long rest.

d10 Item Effect
1 damage cupon When you deal damage to a creature you may consume this item as a reaction, your next damage roll cannot be lower than a damage roll you made this turn of your choice.
2 Bag of Rats While holding this item when you take damage, you can use your reaction to have the bag of rats take the damage instead. The bag of rats has a number of hit points equal to twice your ranger level and has an AC of 10.
3 Potion of dubious origin Upon drinking this potion you roll on the wild magic surge table. If the effect refers to sorcery points, you treat it as spell slots
4 A jar full of gaslight Inhaling this gas will cause you to become slightly more toxic. when you make a Deception ability check you may treat any roll lower than 9 as a 10 for the next 1 minute but cannot make any persuasion ability checks for the duration.
