When you choose this origin at 1st level, you gain the ability to create a floating, black weapon that shines like a piece of night sky filled with stars. As an action, you create a weapon related to your bloodline within 30 feet. The Soul Blade lasts for 1 minute or until you use this feature to create another Soul Blade.
When you create the Soul Blade, you can make a melee spell attack against one creature within 5 feet of it. On a hit, the target takes bludgeoning, piercing, or slashing damage (choose when you create this weapon) equal to 1d8 + your Charisma modifier. You can also wield this weapon in your hands. If you wield the Soul Blade with two hands, the damage dice changes to a d10.
As an action on your turn, you can move your Soul Blade up to 30 feet and repeat the attack.
You can summon the Soul Blade a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.
Soul Collector
At 1st level, when a humanoid dies within 30 feet of you, you can use your reaction to imprison its soul. This imprisoned soul is represented by a d6 Soul Dice. You can use your Soul Dice in the following ways:
- If you fail an ability check using a skill which you do not have proficiency, you can roll one Soul Dice and add the number rolled to the check, potentially turning failure into success. You expend the die only if the roll succeeds.
- If a creature hits you with an attack, you can use your reaction to expend one Soul Dice, roll the dice, and add the number rolled to your AC until the beginning of your next turn, potentially causing the attack to miss you.
- If you fail a saving throw, you can roll one Soul Dice and add the number rolled to the saving throw, potentially turning failure into success. You expend the die only if the roll succeeds.
You can maintain a number of imprisoned souls equal to your proficiency bonus at a time. While you are maintaining imprisoned souls, your are haunted by whispers from the trapped souls.
