Antediluvian Ascension
5th-level transmutation
- Casting Time: 1 Action
- Range: Self
- Components: V, S, M (An onyx ritual blade worth at least 350 gp)
- Duration: Concentration, up to 1 minute
Offering your blood as libation, you bind a far realm entity to your flesh and undergo an unspeakable transformation. You gain the following benefits until the spell ends:
- Your creature type counts as Aberration.
- You gain a fly speed of 30 feet and can hover.
- You are resistant to psychic damage.
- You have proficiency in Constitution saving throws.
When you cast the spell and as a bonus action on your subsequent turns, you can cause one of the following effects.
- Inexorable Stare. You direct your terrifying visage towards your foes. Each creature in a 30-foot cone must make a Wisdom saving throw. On a failure, the creature is frightened for the duration of your transformation. The frightened target can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success.
- Maddening Revelations. You invade a creature's mind, showing them unspeakable visions. You force a creature that you can see within 60 feet of you to make an Intelligence saving throw. On a failure, the creature takes 2d6 psychic damage, or half as much on a successful one and can only make one attack with their attack action until the end of its next turn.
- Dimensional Rift. Your non-euclidean nature allows you to bend space. You teleport 30 feet to an unoccupied space you can see.
If you stop concentrating on the spell before it reaches its full duration, the spell doesn't end and you partially lose control over your transformation for the rest of the duration. On the start of your turn, you must succeed a DC 14 Wisdom saving throw or you must perform one of the listed bonus actions determined by the DM targeting the nearest creature.
