Barbarian Path
Macuahuitl
Starting at 3rd level, you learn how to build a Macuahuitl out of a simple club, and you gain proficiency with Macuahuitl. When you finish a long rest, you can enhance a club to transform it into a Macuahuitl. If the club was magical, it retains all of its magical effects once transformed.
A Macuahuitl has the following properties :
- It deals 1d4 bludgeoning and 1d4 slashing damage on a hit
- Weight 4 lbs
- Has the Versatile property (and deals 1d6 bludgeoning and 1d6 slashing damage when wielded with 2 hands)
Moreover, when raging, your melee attacks with a Macuahuitl score a critical hit on a 19 or 20.
For each extra damage you add to an attack you made with a Macuahuilt such as your strength modifier, your rage damage or extra damage dice with brutal critical or the effect of a spell like hex, you choose if the type of that extra damage is either bludgeoning or slashing.
You are what you eat
Starting at 3rd level, you can take one minute to tear the rib cage of a dead creature open, and eat its heart, absorbing its strengths to make them yours. When you do so, you gain one of the following benefits for the next 24 hours or until you use this feature again. The DM chooses which benefit you get.
- One of your ability scores increases by 2 (with a maximum of 26). It must be the ability score that was the highest of the creature that you ate the heart off. For instance, if you eat the heart of a brown bear, your strength increases by 2.
- You gain a resistance that the creature had.
- You gain a passive feature the creature had (such as keen sight for instance).
Golden Shield
Beginning at 6th level, you learn how to focus the power of the warriors' gods into your shield, projecting their purifying light to blind your enemies.
Once per turn when you have a shield donned, you can, in place of one of your attacks when you take the attack action, try to blind a creature you see within 120 feet. When you do so, the chosen creature must succeed a dexterity saving throw with a DC equal to 8 + your proficiency bonus + your dexterity modifier, or be blinded for 1 minute. If you use this feature again on an other target, the blinded condition ends on the previous one.
A creature that can't see you automatically succeeds its initial saving throw.
A blinded creature can roll a new saving throw at the end of each of its turn, ending the effect on a success.
A creature that succeeds on a saving throw against this blinded condition is immune to your golden shield feature effects for the next 24 hours.
Shield Throw
When you reach 10th level, you learn how to use your shield as a weapon. When you have a shield Donned, it counts as a martial weapon with which you are proficient, that deals 1d6 bludgeoning damage on a hit, and that has the Thrown (20/60ft.) property. If you throw your shield on a creature blinded by your Golden Shield feature, the attack counts as a critical strike on a hit.
Moreover, during a long rest, you can choose to sharpen the sides of your shield. If you do so, your shield now deals slashing damage instead of bludgeoning when you make an attack with it.
Ultimate Warrior
Starting at 14th level, you can now have 2 bonuses from your "You Are What You Eat" feature at the same time. When you should get a third one, choose which one from the first two ends.
