Subrace: Aasimar of Passing

Aasimar of Passing are no strangers to death, and have walked side by side with it from a young age. They serve as a terminus for the departed, and help maintain a balance in the material plane.

When you select this race, you must choose to either centralize your innate magic around your Wisdom or Charisma for the purposes of your inherent traits.

  • Ability Score Increase. Your Wisdom score increases by 1.

  • Harming Hands. You can channel your innate magic to imbue your touch with the essence of death. As an action, you can make a melee spell attack against a creature within your reach, adding your Wisdom or Charisma modifier and Proficiency modifier to the roll. On a hit, the target takes 1d6 + your Wisdom or Charisma modifier necrotic damage.

  • Terminal Magic. Starting at 3rd level, you can cast the Gentle Repose spell with this trait, without requiring material components. Starting at 5th level, you can also cast the Feign Death spell on another creature with this trait, without requiring material components. You can cast either of these spells a number of times equal to half your Wisdom or Charisma modifier (rounded up, with a minimum of 1), and regain any expended uses after a long rest. You can also cast these spells using spell slots you have of the appropriate level.
