Bard College: Jester

Trained in the art of jokes and performance, most jesters are a pleasure to be around, but underneath, they have a great understanding of their enemies. The Jester can goad others with their insults and are more than happy to prance away from the chaos they have caused.

Unarmored Defense

When you choose this College at 3rd level, you learn how to avoid the consequences of your insults. While you are not wearing armor and not wielding a shield, your AC equals 10 + your Dexterity modifier + your Charisma modifier.

Insults

Also at 3rd level, you are an expert at spreading discord among enemies. Any time you would grant an ally a bardic inspiration die, you may instead give it to an enemy. You choose when the enemy must use this inspiration die, and they subtract the number rolled from their check rather than adding it.

Quick Witt

When you reach 6th level you are adept at goading enemies while also fleeing them. You gain the Vicious Mockery cantrip if you don’t already have it. Whenever you deal damage to a creature with Vicious Mockery, that creature is goaded. A goaded creature must make a Wisdom saving throw at the start of its turn. If it succeeds it is no longer goaded, if it fails, it must attempt to attack the source of the goad (you), ignoring other enemies and using its turn to close distance if needed.

Additionally, as a reaction when a creature moves within 5 feet of you, you may move up to half your speed without provoking opportunity attacks.

Affront

At 14th level you are so good at insulting enemies that even their allies suffer for it and yours benefit. Any time you give a bardic inspiration die to an enemy, you may give an additional bardic inspiration die to a creature within 10 feet of the original target.
