Giant Spirit (Sorcerer)

Big Shoes to Fill

Sorcerers are gifted their powers from supernatural events, or magical ancestors or beings. While Draconic Bloodline sorcerers are descended from dragons, Giant Spirit sorcerers rarely inherit their magic in such a way. Instead, most develop their powers after direct interactions with giants, typically earning a blessing at birth or a reward for notable deeds. However you gained your powers, there are several indicators that Giant Magic courses through your veins.

You may use Constitution as your primary/spellcasting ability (rather than Charisma), and you do not require a spellcasting focus. Your powers come from within, and your giant-infused magic further emphasizes your bodily vigor and health.

Giant-Themed Quirk

1st level Giant Spirit feature

Choose one of the giant-themed quirks from the table below, or roll a d6.

d6 Quirk
1 Boisterous Muscles: your body is incredibly robust.
2 Booming Inflection: you have a loud, distinctive voice.
3 Heavy Step: you leave deep tracks wherever you go.
4 Huge Appetite: you eat more than anyone you know.
5 Slow Dictation: you gradually speak every word.
6 Uncommonly Tall: you are 1-2 feet taller than normal.

Bonus Proficiencies

1st level Giant Spirit feature

You are proficient with smith's tools, and you can speak, read, and write Giant.

Totally Bonk-ers

1st level Giant Spirit feature

The giant(s) who gifted you magic also enhanced your body's vitality. You gain proficiency with melee weapons that deal bludgeoning damage.

Tough as Nails

6th level Giant Spirit feature

As a reaction, you can spend one sorcery point to harden your skin, flesh, and bone. Upon taking this reaction, you gain a bonus to your AC equal to your Constitution modifier which lasts for the next minute. This feature cannot be stacked with itself.

A Date with Density

14th level Giant Spirit feature

Your magic embodies itself in your deceptively high mass. You gain advantage on saving throws against being grappled and stunned.

Additionally, as a bonus action, you can spend two sorcery points to gain resistance to bludgeoning, slashing, or piercing damage (your choice) until the end of your next turn. Your melee attacks and unarmed strikes deal an extra 1d8 bludgeoning damage for the duration.

I Like Big Buttresses

18th level Giant Spirit feature

The might of Giants surges through you. As a bonus action before casting a spell, you can spend five sorcery points to grow a number of feet equal to the spell's level. This increase in size affects your body, along with anything worn and carried, and lasts until you complete a long rest.

Whenever you grow this way, your entire body adjusts. For the next minutes after using this feature, your melee attacks and unarmed strikes deal additional bludgeoning damage equal to your spell attack bonus.
