Gluttonous Ooze Giants

The gluttonous ooze giant is a bulbous sentient slime what is driven by the sole desire to feed. These oozes are rather large for their kind, standing nearly 20ft. tall. There is not definite form these ooze giants take as it is entirely dependent on the situation. In fact, it is believed that the ooze giant changes its form in a way that makes engulfing new prey with maximum efficiency. For example, if the ooze giant is pursing prey in a tunnel, it will assume a spherical shape. However, if surrounded by multiple opponents, it will resemble a writhing bipedal mass of writhing pseudopods that are nearly impossible to avoid.

Adhesive Ectoplasm

The gluttonous ooze giant shares many similar hunting tactics to oozes such as the gelatinous cube as its primary method of attack is to run into its enemies, absorbing them into its form. However, the ooze giant has several advantages over its cubic kin. In addition to its primitive intelligence, the ooze giant's ectoplasm is coated with extremely adhesive enzymes that lock any creature into ooze giant’s ectoplasm, allowing it to quickly engulf them within its form without having to worry about its prey running off. This adhesive is designed not only to trap a creature but to also prevent its escape. Additionally, if another creature attempts to free its prey, it places itself at risk to become attached to the ooze's form as well.

Barreling Gluttons

Because of their adhesive body, the ooze giant's favorite tactic is to literally run over its prey. By nature, ooze giants are relatively lazy hunters and only do not want to engage in a prolonged chase. After all, why engage in a prolonged chase when all the ooze giant needs to do is to touch its prey once. Once adhered to its prey, it can take its time to engulf its victim as it is very unlikely for its prey to be able to break free from its bonds. However, the ooze giant does have countermeasures against prey that manages to escape or outrun it as it has the ability to fire enormous blobs of slime that immediately tethers any creature unfortunate to find itself in range.

Adhesive The ooze giant can choose to adhere to anything it touches. A Huge or smaller creature adhered to the ooze giant is grappled by it (escape DC 18). Ability checks to escape this grapple have disadvantage.

Amorphous The ooze giant can move through a space as narrow as an inch without squeezing

Engulf A creature engulfed by the ooze giant cannot breathe, is restrained, and takes 15(6d4) acid damage at thyr start of each of the ooze giant's turns. When the ooze giant moves, the engulfed creature moves with it.

An engulfed creature can try to escape using its action to make a DC 18 Strength check. On a success, the target escapes and enters a space of its choice within 5ft. of the ooze giant.

Gelatinous Absorption Engulfed creatures can be seen but have total cover inside the ooze giant. A creature can use its action to pull a creature or object out of the ooze giant with a successful DC 18 Strength check and the creature making the attempt takes 15(6d4) acid damage.

The ooze giant can only hold one Huge creature, or four Large creature, or sixteen Medium or smaller creatures in its space at one time.

Gelatinous Evasion When the ooze giant fails a Constitution or Dexterity saving throw, it takes half damage. On a successful saving throw, it takes none.

Siege Monster The ooze giant can deal double damage to buildings and objects.

Sticky Combatant The ooze giant has advantage on attack rolls against grappled targets

Spider Climb The ooze giant can climb difficult surfaces, including ceilings, without needing to make an ability check

Actions

Multiattack. The ooze giant can make two attacks with its Ooze Rakes

Ooze Rake Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, 10ft., one target. Hit: 11 (3d6+4) bludgeoning damage + 10(4d4) acid damage. On a hit, a Huge or smaller target must succeed a DC 18 Strength saving throw or become Engulfed.

Slime Blob Ranged Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, 120/600ft., one target. Hit: 34 12d4+4) acid damage. On a hit or miss, the target and each creature within 5ft. of it must succeed a DC 18 Strength saving throw. On a failed saving throw, creatures within range are restrained until the end of its next turn.

Bonus Actions

Engulfing Charge The ooze giant can use its bonus action to charge at its opponents absorbing all in its path. When the ooze giant first enters a space within 5 feet of a creature, it can force that creature to make a DC 18 Strength or Dexterity saving throw. On a failed save, the creature engulfed. A creature can be affected by the ooze giant only once each turn.

Reactions

Gelatinous Shift When the Ooze Giant takes damage, it can use it reaction to take half damage.
