Ragereaver

Weapon (greatsword), Artifact (bonded to Kai)

You gain a +5 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon.

When you attack a creature that has at least one head with this weapon and get a critical hit on the attack roll, you cut off one of the creature's heads. The creature dies if it can't survive without the lost head. A creature is immune to this effect if it is immune to slashing damage, doesn't have or need a head, has legendary actions, or the GM decides that the creature is too big for its head to be cut off with this weapon. Such a creature instead takes an extra 6d8 slashing damage from the hit.

Keen. This weapon deals a critical strike on a 19 - 20 on a d20

Drain. When you deal necrotic damage to a creature through your perfected dark smite ability, you regain hit points equal to the damage dealt.

Crimson King. As an action, you can plunge the sword to the ground and exude its menacing presence. Each creature of your choice that you can see within 60 ft. must make a wisdom saving throw against your blackguard spell save DC or be frightened of you for one minute and take one level of exhaustion. The creatures can repeat this save at the end of each of their turns to get rid of the frightened condition. Once you use this ability, you can not do so again until the next dusk or you spend a 5th level or higher spell slot to do so again.

When you use the Crimson King ability, you can chose to spend a number of hit die with minimum of 2 to a maximum of 5, roll them and take necrotic damage equal to the result (ignores resistances and immunities) to immediately activate the Feast ability without needing an action as long as the Feast ability is not already used today. The damage it dealt to each creature is also increased by the damage you take from spending your hit die.

Feast. As an action, you can command the sword to drain life force from creatures around you. Each creature of your choice that you can see in 60 ft. must succeed on a constitution saving throw against your blackguard spell save DC or take 4d10 necrotic damage and gain one level of exhaustion. Creatures that makes the save only takes half damage and do not take a level of exhaustion. Any creature that failed this save with less than 50 hit points are instantly slain. Creatures that are frightened of you makes this saving throw with disadvantage. Once you use this ability, you can not do so again until the next dusk.

Immediately after using the Feast ability, you can chose on of the following:

  • Devour. You gain temporary hit points equal to half of the damage dealt from this ability. Your movement speed is doubled until the end of your next turn.
  • Digest. The next attack you make with this weapon until the end of your next turn deals extra necrotic damage equal to the half of the damage dealt from this ability.
