Sauriaborn

Sauriaborn are akin to the Dragonborn, except they come from the lineage of the ancient and powerful dinosaurs. Sauriaborn roam the world, searching for one of the few living dinosaurs left, in the hopes that they could ask why they were created, and how. Sauriaborn enjoy violence, and will lash out at anything that proves an annoyance to them.


Clans of Ancestry

There are several clans of Sauriaborn, Each having a different ancestor, and each completely convinced that they are the superior clan. Sauriaborn make a point of disliking the Sauriaborn of the other clans, sometimes even devolving into hatred. There are a select few who do not act this way, but they are far from the majority.


Clan Hierarchy

Sauriaborn clans have a simple hierarchy. Those who are fit to rule are those who rule. There is some preference for those who look more akin to their ancestors, but this rarely is enough to affect who is in what position.


Sauriaborn Names

Following their love of violence, Sauriaborn usually have names that have something to do with gory violence. They do not have gendered names
Names: Gnawer, Gorer, Slasher, Crusher, Maimer, Basher


Sauriaborn Traits

All Sauriaborn share these traits.
Ability score increase. Your Strength score increases by 2, and your Constitution score increases by 1.
Age. Sauriaborn mature very slowly, reaching adulthood at age 25. They generally live for 130 years or so.
Alignment. Sauriaborn can be of any alignment.
Size. Sauriaborn are much bigger than your average human, ranging from 9 to 11 feet, and having a weight of about 250 pounds.
Speed. You have a base walking speed of 30 feet.
Languages. You know Saurian, Common, and you can communicate with dinosaurs.
Dinosaur Ancestors. There are several types of Sauriaborn. You may choose your type in the Sauriaborn Ancestor section.
Advanced Metabolism. You can eat raw meat and corpses without getting sick.

Intimidating Roar. As an action, you may roar loudly. doing so causes any hostile creature within 30 feet of you to make a Wisdom saving throw with a DC of 10 + your Charisma (Intimidation) modifier. On a failed save, the creature becomes frightened of you for 1 minute. You may use this action 3 times per short or long rest.


Sauriaborn Ancestor

You may choose one of the following ancestors. The different ancestors grant you different abilities and give you a resemblance to them.

Tyrannosaurus Ancestor (Tyrannoborn Clan)

Traits:

  • Natural Weapon: Tail whip. Melee Weapon Attack: reach 10 feet, one target. Hit: 1d8 + your strength modifier bludgeoning damage.
  • Slow but Powerful. Your walking speed is reduced to 25 feet, but if you have moved at least 15 feet towards a a target without stopping, your melee attacks on that target deal an extra 1d10 force damage.
  • Incredible Strength your carrying capacity increases by 75 pounds, and you get +1 on any Strength saving throw you make.

Velociraptor Ancestor (Raptorborn Clan)

Traits:

  • Natural Weapon: Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: reach 5 feet, one target. Hit: 1d8 + your strength modifier piercing damage.
  • Fast and Nimble. Your walking speed is increased to 35 feet and you get +1 on any Dexterity saving throw you make.
  • Heightened senses. You may sniff the air, revealing any living creature nearby unless their scent is concealed in some way. Also, you gain advantage on any investigation or tracking check.

Pteranodon Ancestor (Pteranaborn Clan)

Traits:

  • Natural weapon: Talons. Melee Weapon Attack: reach 5 feet, one target. Hit: 1d8 + your strength modifier slashing damage.
  • Flight. You gain a flying speed of 20 feet. If you fly downward towards a target before attacking them, your melee attacks on that target deal an extra 1d6 force damage.

  • Fishing Prowess: To fish, you may fly and dip your beak in the water. If you do so, it takes at most 1 minute to find a fish. Once you find a fish, you must make a DC 13 Dexterity saving throw to catch the fish. The DM decides what rarity fish you get, and what its bonuses are.
