Thri Kreen
\pagebreak # Thri-kreen ### The Thri-kreen are a race of sentient bug-people native to the deserts and savannas of the world. Thri-kreen generally avoid all other races, sticking in their tribes unless in the case of absolute necessity, or if they are an adventurer. (like you) Thri-kreen language does not have words. Instead, it consists of clacking mandibles and waving antennae to convey thoughts and emotions. However, the form of Thri-kreen this race contains possesses psionics, a useful tool in communication with other races.
## A Peculiar Species ### Thri-kreen have two particularly weird quirks that set them apart from the other races. The strangest of the two is the fact that Thri-kreen see all races besides themselves as food, and they love the taste of elf flesh in particular. Thri-kreen will only kill out of necessity, however, and Thri-kreen adventurers are very good at suppressing this. The other strange quality that the Thri-kreen have is that they almost never have emotional outbursts, causing them to viewed as sagely by other races. Thri-kreen with psionics display more emotions, but still do so less than other races.
## Psionics ### Some Thri-kreen manifest psionic powers, which enables them to communicate with others, and also do a few other things. As mentioned before, this race consists of those Thri-kreen. Because of this, you gain the following abilities. * You gain Telepathy out to a range of 60 feet * You may innately cast the following spells, using wisdom as your spellcasting modifier, and requiring no materials. At will: *mage hand* (the hand is invisible) 2 per day each: *blur, magic weapon* 1 per day: *invisibility* (self only)
## Thri-kreen weapons ### Thri-kreen have unique weapons of their creation, the Gythka and the Chatkcha. Their descriptions are below, and you gain 1 Gythka and 2 Chatkchas. You may make a mulitattack of 2 Gythka attacks or 2 Chatkcha attacks. Look at the Thri-kreen entry in the monster manual to see what the weapons look like. **Gythka.** A polearm with a blade on each end. *2 Handed Melee Weapon attack:* reach 5 feet, 1 target. *Hit:* 1d8 + 1 slashing damage **Chatkcha.** A triangular wedge with three serrated blades. (not the daggers on the cover) *1 Handed Melee or Ranged Attack:* Melee: reach 5 feet, 1 target. Ranged: range 30/120 feet, one target. *Hit:* 1d6 + 2 slashing damage. \columnbreak ## Thri-kreen traits ### As a Thri-kreen, you gain the following traits. **Ability Score Increase.** You gain +2 to Dexterity and +1 to Wisdom **Age.** Thri-kreen mature quickly, reaching adulthood at age 3 or 4. Thri-kreen live for around 30 years, but you may ignore this if your campaign lasts longer in game. **Alignment.** Thri-kreen are neutral in alignment. **Size.** Thri-kreen are roughly the same size as humans. Your size is Medium. **Speed.** Your base walking speed is 40 feet. **Languages.** You know Thri-kreen, common, and one other language of your choice. **Darkvision.** You have Darkvision for 60 feet, seeing in dim light as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. **Sleepless.** You do not require sleep and can rest while remaining alert and performing light tasks. However, you may pretend that you are asleep. **Chameleon Carapace.** You can change the color of your carapace to match the color and texture of your surroundings. This gives you advantage on all Dexterity (Stealth) checks made to hide. **Standing Leap** Your long jump is up to 30 feet and your high jump is up to 15 feet, with or without a running start. **Natural Weapons.** You have natural weapons in the form of your bite and your claws. * Bite: *Melee Weapon Attack:* reach 5 feet, one creature. *Hit:* 1d6 + your strength modifier piercing damage, and the target must succeed on a DC 10 + your proficiency bonus Constitution saving throw or be poisoned for one minute. If the saving throw fails by 5 or more, the target is also paralyzed while poisoned this way. The poisoned target can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on a success. * Claws: *Melee Weapon Attack:* reach 5 feet, one target. *Hit:* 2d4 + your strength modifier slashing damage.
