Actions

Shadow Blade Melee Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, 5ft., one target. Hit 4 (1d4+2) necrotic damage and the target must succeed a DC 12 Wisdom saving throw. On a failed saving throw, the target takes 9(2d8) psychic damage and is frightened until the end of its next turn. If this attack is made while in dim light or darkness, the target has disadvantage on its saving throw.

Shadow Cloud(1/day) The shadow imp can cast the Darkness spell. When the shadow imp casts the spell in this manner, it does not need to concentrate on the spell effect.

Bonus Actions

Shadow Stealth While in dim light or darkness, the shadow imp can use its bonus action to take the Hide action.

Shadow Imps

Shadow imps are a rare subspecies of imp native to all realms within the Nine Hells. These tiny devils are quite distinct from their other kin thanks to their shadowy wings and eyes that burn with an otherworldly light, often reflecting their plane of origin. For example, a shadow imp from Avernus may possess crimson red eyes while one from Cania may have an icy blue hue.

Shadow Practitioners

Their dark essence is directly related to their special affinity for shadow magic. This power grants them a vast array of abilities ranging the ability to merge into shadows and even conjure illusory nightmares to terrify their opponents. Unlike the rest of their kind, shadow imps do not rely on their claws or stingers; but instead use their spellcasting abilities to create daggers of darkness.

Devious Minions

Just like all fiends, shadow imps seek to establish a pact with mortals in an attempt to claim their souls through the role of an infernal familiar. Although they often serve the role as advisors or assistants, they truly want to corrupt their master’s soul by encouraging them to commit acts of evil often by preying off one's fears and paranoia. Despite their manipulative behavior, shadow imps are still incredibly loyal and will not deviate from their end of the bargain.

When serving higher ranking devils, shadow imps primarily serve the role as spies thanks to their ability to infiltrate nearly any location. However, their mastery of shadow magic makes them ideal support troops for more powerful fiends thanks to their ability to blind their foes in magical darkness and striking their foes from the shadows.
