Goliaths

Goliaths can trace their ancestry to the mighty giants of the Ordening. They are often commonly known as little giants" due to their towering statures reach 7 to 8 feet tall. Many goliaths are quite proud of their titanic ancestry and share many cultural similarities as their gigantic kin.

Ability Score Increase Your Strength score increases by 1 and your Constitution score increases by 1

Size Your size counts as Medium

Speed Your base walking speed is 30ft.

Languages You can read, write, and speak Common and Giant.

Giant's Blood You have proficiency in Athletics

Powerful Build You count as one size larger when determining your carrying capacity and the weight you can push, drag, or lift.

Cloud Goliaths

Cloud goliath trace their heritage to that of the opulent cloud giant. These goliaths are known for their opulent kingdoms hidden away on the tallest of mountains.

Ability Score Your Charisma score increases by 1

Cloud Borne You gain resistance to thunder damage.

Gift of the Storm You know the Gust cantrip. Once you reach 3rd level, you can cast the Thunder Wave spell once as a 1st-level spell with this trait and regain the ability to do so when you finish a long rest. When you reach 5th level, you can cast their gigantic the Gust of Wind spell once with this trait and regain the ability to do so when you finish a long rest. Constitution is your spellcasting ability for these spells.

Slow Fall Your attunement of the skies allows you to soften harden landings. Whenever, you calculate fall damage, you can subtract 30ft. from the total when calculating damage, as long as you are not incapacitated. Upon taking fall damage, you must make a DC 10 Dexterity saving throw. On a successful saving throw, you do not fall prone. The DC for this ability check increases by every 10ft. above 30ft. that you fall.

Fire Goliaths

Fire goliaths share many similarities to fire giants. They possess crimson red skin and eyes that burn like smoldering coals.

Ability Score Your Strength score increases by 1.

Darkvision You can see in dim light within 60ft. of you as if there were bright light and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can't discern color in darkness, only shades in gray.

Fire Resistance You have resistance to fire damage.

Heated Strike Your fire giant blood allows you to superheat your weapons. When you damage a creature with an unarmed strike or a weapon attack, you can cause the attack to deal extra fire damage to the creature. The extra damage equals 2d6 fire damage. At higher levels, the damage dealt increases to 3d6 at 5th level, 4d6 at 9th level, 5d6 at 13th level, and 6d6 at 17th level. Once you use this trait, you can't use it again until you finish a short or long rest.

Forest Goliaths

Forest goliaths possess a special connection to nature, just like jungle giants. Thanks to their green skin and floral hair, these goliaths are able to blend into their surroundings with ease, despite their large forms.

Ability Score Your Wisdom score increases by 1.

Floral Tongue You can read, write, and speak Druidic.

Forest Stride You can move through difficult terrain caused by plant life without needing to make ability checks or expending additional movement.

Natural Recovery Your connection to nature gives you minor regenerative abilities. As an action, you can expend one hit die to regain a number of hitpoints equal to your Hit Die + your Constitution modifier.

Frost Goliaths

Frost goliaths are a nomadic people that call the frozen tundras of the Material Plane their home. They value strength above all else as that is the key to living in such harsh environments.

Ability Score Your Strength score increases by 1.

Frost Walker You are naturally acclimated to traversing your frozen environment. You can move through difficult terrain caused by icy terrain without needing to make ability checks or expending additional movement.

Frost Resistance You have resistance to cold damage. You also naturally acclimate to high altitudes, even if you’ve never been to one. This includes elevations above 20,000 feet.

Snow Sight You are naturally acclimated to seeing through dense fog and snow. Your vision is not completely obscured by fog or snowfall. While in those conditions, your vision is not obscured by fog or heavy snowfall for up to 30ft.

Grave Goliaths

Grave goliaths are a rare subrace that are believed to have originated from the Shadowfell. These giantkin possess a special connection to the necromantic magics of life and death. Although they are a dominant race found on the Shadowfell, it is not uncommon for them to create outposts and settlements on the Material Plane.

Ability Score Your Constitution score increases by 1

Death Touched You have resistance to necrotic damage.

Grave Sight As an action, you can open your awareness to detect the souls of the dead. You are able to pinpoint the location of any Undead within 60ft. of you for the next 10 minutes. Once you use this feature, you cannot do so again until you finish a long rest.

Relentless Fortitude When you are reduced to 0 hit points but not killed outright, you can drop to 1 hit point instead. You can't use this feature again until you finish a long rest

Hill Goliaths

Hill goliaths are closely related to the gluttonous hill giant. However, unlike their gigantic relatives, hill goliaths have built structured civilization on the open plains and grasslands. However, they do have a notorious reputation of being persistent raiders, attacking nearby settlements for their goods.

Ability Score Your Constitution score increases by 1.

Hearty Fortitude When you make a Constitution saving throw, you can choose to grant yourself advantage. On a failed saving throw, you can choose to take half damage, and on a successful saving throw, you take no damage instead.

Poison Resistance You have advantage on saving throws against poison, and you have resistance against poison damage.

Olympian Goliaths

Olympian goliaths can be easily identified by their golden skin. These goliaths are believed to have been blessed by the gods who have granted them supernatural strength and a sense of fearlessness, akin to that of demigods.

Ability Score Your Strength score increases by 1.

Dauntless You have advantage on saving throws against being frightened.

Divine Champion You have resistance to radiant damage.

Divine Strength When you are forced to make a Strength ability check or saving throw, you can add an additional 1d4 to your ability check. You can use this trait a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.

God's Tongue You can read, write, and speak Celestial.

Stone Goliaths

Stone goliaths are believed to be the direct ancestors of stone giants. Just like their ancestors, stone goliath civilizations have a special affinity for art and architecture. They are well known for their beautiful cities that span the Underdark, rivaling that of dwarven architecture.

Ability Score Your Dexterity score increases by 1.

Darkvision You can see in dim light within 60ft. of you as if there were bright light and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can't discern color in darkness, only shades in gray.

Stone's Endurance You can supernaturally draw on unyielding stone to shrug off harm. When you take damage, you can use your reaction to roll a d12. Add your Constitution modifier to the number rolled and reduce the damage by that total. You can use this trait a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.

Stone Giant's Grace You gain proficiency in Acrobatics

Stone Skin Your skin is as hard as stone. When you aren't wearing armor, your AC is 12 + your Constitution modifier. A shield's benefits apply as normal while you use your natural armor.

Storm Goliaths

Storm goliath civilizations can typically be found on the coastal regions and islands across the Material Plane. Just like their ancestors, they share a special connection to the sea and sky which gives them an innate sense of direction, allowing them to keenly navigate the open seas.

Ability Score Your Wisdom score increases by 1

Amphibious You can breathe in air an in water. You also gain a swimming speed equal to your walking speed.

Storm Blood You gain resistance to lightning damage.

Weather Sense You gain proficiency in Survival. As an action, you can predict the weather at your location for the next 24 hours.

Gift of the Storm You know the Shape Water cantrip. Once you reach 3rd level, you can cast the Fog Cloud spell once as a 1st-level spell with this trait and regain the ability to do so when you finish a long rest. When you reach 5th level, you can cast the Skywrite spell once with this trait and regain the ability to do so when you finish a long rest. Constitution is your spellcasting ability for these spells.

Oni

Oni are a type of giantkin who have been altered by the chaotic interplanar magics. They can be easily distinguished by their hulking forms, tusked teeth, and prominent horns. Because of their otherworldly appearance, many oni tend to be misunderstood and even feared. However, despite these misconceptions, oni are quite prevalent through the multiverse and are the founders of many powerful civilizations on the Material Plane and even beyond.

Ability Score Increase Your Strength score increases by 1 and your Charisma score increases by 1

Size Your size counts as Medium

Languages You can read, write, and speak Common and Giant.

Darkvision You can see in dim light within 60ft. of you as if there were bright light and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can't discern color in darkness, only shades in gray.

Monstrous Reputation You gain proficiency in Intimidation.

Frightful Presence You can project a terrible presence to strike fear in your enemy’s hearts. As a bonus action, creatures of your choice within a 10ft. radius of you must succeed a Wisdom saving throw equal to 8 + your Strength or Charisma modifier (your choice) + your proficiency bonus. On a failed saving throw, creatures are frightened by you until the end of your next turn.

Once you use this trait, you can't use it again until you finish a short or long rest.

Dread Oni

Dread oni can trace their racial origins to the Abyss. These ogres have been altered by the magic of the Abyss, whether by demonic corruption or a side effect to exposure to an Abyssal rift or portal. Because of this, dread onis are known for their ability to manipulate the fear of their enemies using it to their own advantage.

Ability Score Your Charisma score increases by 1

Abyssal Tongue You can read, write, and speak Abyssal.

Demonic Soul Your demonic essence makes your resistant against effects that would terrify you. You have advantage on saving throws against being frightened.

Fearmonger When you use your Frightful Presence, you gain advantage on attack rolls against frightened by you in this manner.

Fear Magic You know the Minor Illusion cantrip. Once you reach 3rd level, you can cast the Cause Fear spell once as a 1st-level spell with this trait and regain the ability to do so when you finish a long rest. When you reach 5th level, you can cast oni can the Phantasmal Force spell once with this trait and regain the ability to do so when you finish a long rest. Charisma is your spellcasting ability for these spells.

Eldritch Oni

Eldritch oni are a rare subrace who have been exposed to the maddening horror of the Far Realm. Whereas most creatures would have been consumed by madness, eldritch oni have been granted otherworldly power. Despite the corruption from the Far Realm, eldritch oni do not differ much from the rest of their kin in appearance. Only when they fully embrace their frightening visage is when the full extent of the eldritch corruption is revealed.

Ability Score Your Intelligence score increases by 1

Alien Mind You can gain resistance to psychic damage.

Maddening Visions Creatures frightened by your Frightful visage are trapped in an illusory nightmare of the beyond until the end of its next turn. While frightened in this manner, the target can only perceive you, itself, and your illusion.

Voice from the Beyond You can read, write, and speak Deep Speech.

Unfathomable Magic You know the Mind Sliver cantrip. Once you reach 3rd level, you can cast the Dissonant Whispers spell once as a 1st-level spell with this trait and regain the ability to do so when you finish a long rest. When you reach 5th level, you can cast the Crown of Madness spell once with this trait and regain the ability to do so when you finish a long rest. Charisma is your spellcasting ability for these spells.

Eternal Oni

Eternal oni have been blessed with a boon from the gods. Many eternal oni civilizations possess a great reverence to the gods and actually serve as keepers or guardians of holy artifacts and knowledge in their holy cities.

Celestial Tongue You can read, write, and speak Celestial.

Divine Soul You can gain resistance to radiant damage.

Hallowed Presence When you use your Frightful presence, celestials, fey, fiends, and undead have disadvantage on the saving throw. On a failed saving throw, those creatures are considered turned until the end of its next turn

Eternal Magic You know the Sacred Flame cantrip. Once you reach 3rd level, you can cast the Protection from Evil and Good spell once as a 1st-level spell with this trait and regain the ability to do so when you finish a long rest. When you reach 5th level, you can cast the Lesser Restoration spell once with this trait and regain the ability to do so when you finish a long rest. Charisma is your spellcasting ability for these spells.

Hellfire Oni

Due to their infernal appearance, hellfire oni can be confused for a tiefling. However, most hellfire oni tend to be quite larger and do not possess tails like their counterparts. However, hellfire oni typically share similar origins to tieflings as their existence can be traced back to an ancient pact with a powerful devil.

Infernal Tongue You can read, write, and speak Infernal.

Infernal Soul You can gain resistance to fire damage.

Searing Visage Creatures that fail their saving throw against your Frightful Presence takes 2d6 fire damage. At higher levels, the damage dealt increases to 3d6 at 5th level, 4d6 at 9th level, 5d6 at 13th level, and 6d6 at 17th level.

Infernal Magic You know the Firebolt cantrip. Once you reach 3rd level, you can cast the Hellish Rebuke spell once as a 1st-level spell with this trait and regain the ability to do so when you finish a long rest. When you reach 5th level, you can cast the Darkness spell once with this trait and regain the ability to do so when you finish a long rest. Charisma is your spellcasting ability for these spells.

Spiritwalker Oni

Due to their origins on the Shadowfell, spiritwalker oni exist in a perpetual state of both life and death. Because of their ethereal appearance and direct connection to the Shadowfell, many spiritwalker oni are regarded with a sense of apprehension and even suspicion.

Ability Score Your Constitution score increases by 1

Soul Terror When a creature fails its saving throw against your Frightful Presence, it cannot regain hitpoints until the end of its next turn.

Death Touched You gain resistance to necrotic damage.

Undead Fortitude When you are reduced to 0 hit points but not killed outright, you can drop to 1 hit point instead. You can't use this feature again until you finish a long rest

Death Magic You know the Toll the Dead cantrip. Once you reach 3rd level, you can cast the Inflict Wounds spell once as a 1st-level spell with this trait and regain the ability to do so when you finish a long rest. When you reach 5th level, you can cast the Invisibility spell once with this trait and regain the ability to do so when you finish a long rest. Charisma is your spellcasting ability for these spells.

Sylvan Oni

Sylvan oni have been grant otherworldly power from the madness that is the Feywild. Their very appearance can be quite an enigma that inspires both a sense of awe and terror. In comparison to the rest of their kin, sylvan oni tend to be quite nomadic, often traveling between both the Material Plane and Feywild.

Ability Score Your Charisma score increases by 1

Otherworldly Presence When a creature fails its saving throw against your Frightful Presence, it is also considered charmed by you until the end of its next turn.

Sylvan Tongue You can read, write, and speak Sylvan.

Sylvan Heritage You has advantage on saving throws against being charmed.

Misty Magic You know the Friends cantrip. Once you reach 3rd level, you can cast the Charm Person spell once as a 1st-level spell with this trait and regain the ability to do so when you finish a long rest. When you reach 5th level, you can cast the Misty Step spell once with this trait and regain the ability to do so when you finish a long rest. Charisma is your spellcasting ability for these spells.

Trollkin

Trollkin are believed to be the smaller ancestors of true troll. They can be easily distinguished from other giantkin due to their long arms, lanky form, and natural healing factor. Thanks to their ability to rapidly adapt, trollkin can be found in any biome across the Material Plane.

Size Your size counts as Medium

Speed Your base walking speed is 30ft.

Darkvision You are accustomed to seeing in the dark. You gain darkvision up to 60ft.

Long Limbed When you make a melee attack on your turn, your reach for it is 5 feet greater than normal.

Keen Senses You gain proficiency in Perception.

Regenerative You are able to rapidly regenerate your wounds. As an action, you can expend one hit die to regain a number of hit points equal to your hit die + your Constitution modifier.

Death Trollkin

Death trollkin have been infused with necrotic magics, whether through magical experimentation, interplanar rifts to the Shadowfell, or even through environmental corrupt due to rampant necromancy.

Ability Score Increase Your Constitution score increases by 1.

Beyond the Grave When you succeed a death saving throw, you can choose to spend one hit die to regain a number of hitpoints equal to your hit die + your Constitution modifier. You can't use this feature again until you finish a long rest

Necrotic Resistance You gain resistance to necrotic damage.

Necrotic Siphon When you use your Regenerative feature, creatures within 10ft. of you cannot regain hitpoints until the end of its next turn.

Dire Trollkin

Dire trollkin are the largest of their kind as they have undergone extensive biological mutation and adaptation. Because of these mutations, dire trollkin have developed an additional pair of limbs. However, these auxiliary limbs are not as developed as their primary limbs and cannot be used to perform advanced tasks.

Powerful Build You count as one size larger when determining your carrying capacity and the weight you can push, drag, or lift.

Heightened Regeneration Whenever you finish a long rest, you can recover one additional Hit Die. You can recover one additional Hit Die when you reach 9th level, and again at 17th level for a total of three additional hit die.

Multi-limbed You have two additional appendages growing alongside with your arms. You can use it to do the following simple tasks: lift, drop, hold, push, or pull an object or a creature; open or close a door or a container; grapple someone; or make an unarmed strike. It can't wield weapons or shields or do anything that requires manual precision, such as using tools or magic items or performing the somatic components of a spell.

Frost Trollkin

Frost trollkin are native to frozen tundras and the icy wastes of the Material Plane. Thanks to their sharpened claws, they are able to travel across slick ice with little difficulty while their thick fur protects them from the biting cold. Frost trollkin are quite unique from their relatives due to their unique ability to fuel their regeneration by draining the body heat from nearby creatures.

Chilling Aura When you use expend a hit die to use your regenerative ability, you can deal cold damage equal to your hit die + your Constitution modifier to all creatures within 10ft. of you. Creatures that take cold damage in this manner have their movement speed reduced by 10ft. until the end of its next turn.

Frost Resistance You gain resistance to cold damage.

Ice Stride You are naturally acclimated to traversing your frozen environment. You can move through difficult terrain caused by icy terrain without needing to make ability checks or expending additional movement.

Jungle Trollkin

Jungle trollkin typically make their homes in the lush jungles and overgrown forests of the Material Plane. Due to their bloodline, trollkin have developed a deep connection with plants around them. This connection has physically altered their appearance, causing their hair and fur to appear more like plants. Additionally, they have also learned to utilize energy from sunlight to boost their metabolism quickly regenerate their wounds.

Ability Score Increase Your Wisdom score increases by 1

Canopy Dweller You gain a climbing speed of 30ft.

Photosynthesis If you use your Regenerative ability while in sunlight, you can treat your hit die roll as its maximum value instead

Rock Trollkin

Rock trollkin do not share the lanky build of the rest of their kin. Instead, they are built similarly to ogre and possess a thick layer of armored hide, almost akin to scales. Their unique adaptations allow them to easily blend into the surroundings of their homes within mountains and caverns. Despite their large size, they are able to climb difficult surfaces, such as cliff faces, with surprising speed and agility.

Cliffwalker You gain a climbing speed of 30ft.

Stone Skin Your skin is as hard as stone. When you aren't wearing armor, your AC is 12 + your Constitution modifier. A shield's benefits apply as normal while you use your natural armor.

Powerful Build You count as one size larger when determining your carrying capacity and the weight you can push, drag, or lift.

Swamp Trollkin

Swamp trollkin are rather common variant of trollkin found on the Material Plane. Although they typically make their homes in swamps or bogs, they have been known to form settlements on large bodies of water such as river, lakes, and even oceans. Thanks to their ability to breathe underwater, some of these trollkin have even established civilizations completely underwater.

Ability Score Increase Your Wisdom score increases by 1

Amphibious You can breathe in air and in water. You also have a swimming speed of 30ft.

Acid Resistance You gain resistance to acid damage.

Corrosive Regeneration When you use your Regenerative feature, you can coat yourself in a coat of acid until the start of your next turn. Whenever a creature hits you with a melee attack while within 5ft. of you, it takes acid damage equal to your hit die + your Constitution modifier.
