Squirrelfolk

Squirrelfolk are an animalistic people fond of the woods where they wish to live off the land that they nourish themselves. They often live in tandem with other forested animals and therefore are liked and brought up in life to respect and help those around them. Squirrelfolk love people and animals, and are fond of things which bring peace and harmony, such as music, art, and poetry.

A Social People

⠀ Squirrelfolk are social animals who love to work in groups and collaborate on pretty much any task given to them. They live in groups which come in sizes as little as a few families or even some so large that they cover the whole expanse of a forest. It is not uncommon for a person going out into the woods and spotting a group of these squirrelfolk scurrying across the ground or flying through the air in search of forageable plants and berries.

They always have stories to tell and experiences to share as well as things to introduce. In crowded city, you might see a little shop set up on the side of the road selling nature's finest treats which is tended by a squirrelfolk. Even just an interaction like buying from a stand could yield a great story.

More often than not, you will find a squirrelfolk who has indulged into either music, painting, calligraphy, artisanship, or even dance. Together in a gather, they are the life of the party and the center of attention. They could be performing the greatest show of you life at a lively party or sitting in a chair reading the finest poem you have ever listened to.

Hearty Workers

The animals of the forest are those who are many and varied. In behind every tree and hiding in every bush there are wolves, deer, raccoons, and even the humble squirrelfolk. Squirrelfolk are a race who work to bring peace to the forest and commune with all of these animals despite their differences.

This lifestyle and ideal shines in their daily life within humanoid societies. Squirrelfolk will often pick up a trade and will work to be the best at that trade. In doing so, they often work shops and other attractions that help them grow in their trade. You can see a squirrelfolk working a fruit cart on the side of the road or standing atop a stool and hammering at a sword rested on an anvil.

Although small in stature, their heart shines brighter than a thousand suns. Squirrelfolk work to bring love and peace to the world and wish that all creature would live in harmony.
