Cloud Giants
Of all true giants, cloud giants are the most reclusive. Many cloud giants tend to reside in their extravagant castles and strongholds located on the tallest mountains and in some cases, the very clouds themselves. Thanks to their powerful affinity for air magic, cloud giants are able to control the weather and sculpt entire storm systems to support their magnificent kingdoms.
Titanic Superiority
Many cloud giants believe that they are superior to all other creatures, especially when considering humanoids and even other giantkin. Cloud giants believe that it is the duty of lesser creatures to serve them. In most circumstances, cloud giants would hardly ever stoop so low to interact with most humanoids. In fact, their only interactions with humanoids typically entail them hiring lesser giant kin to raid human settlements on their behalf.
Noble Aeries
Despite having a natural disdain for most creatures, cloud giants have a special fondness for creatures of the skies. many cloud giants are avid collectors of all manner of airborne creatures, especially rocs, griffons, and wyverns. Typically, these creatures are trained to be guardians or sentinels for their estates. In some cases, cloud giants have even been known to domesticate or even enslave dragons, using them as powerful mounts or symbols of power.
Opulent Society
Extravagance and wealth are the central pillars of cloud giant society. Oftentimes, a cloud giants’ status in society is often determined by their wealth. Despite their love for wealth, cloud giants rarely fight or steal from one another, at least directly. Instead, they resort to complicated gambles and plots to get what they want. These schemes often include using lesser creatures as pawns in their grand machinations.
Cloud Giant Tactics
Unlike the rest of their kin, cloud giants possess a natural affinity for magic, especially the elemental magics of air. Because of this, cloud giants are often considered to be much more dangerous than their lesser kin due to the combination of their sheer might as well as their magical prowess.
Clever Combatants
Despite their natural arcane abilities, cloud giants tend to use their magic defensively by primarily using them to hinder their opponent's attacks or to allow for a quick escape. In most instances, cloud giants will seek to limit their target's visibility using spells like Fog Cloud. Thanks to their natural ability to see through fog, their next strategy is either to pick off foes one by one in melee combat using the cloudy cover to evade harm. Alternatively, if their opponents are grouped together, they will use their Thunderburst to incapacitate any creatures within reach.
Legion of Minions
Despite their combat prowess, most cloud giants would prefer to call upon their minions to dispatch their enemies. Oftentimes, cloud giants will command their small flocks of griffon, wyverns, and other creatures to harry their opponent. Others may call upon lesser giantkin under their service to come to their aid. Depending on their disposition, most cloud giants will use this as an opportunity for them to escape as fighter lesser creatures is typically not worth their time unless the situation truly calls for it.
