### Primeval Guardian Rangers of the Primeval Guardian Conclave follow an ancient tradition rooted in powerful druidic magic. These rangers learn to become one with nature, allowing them to channel the aspects of various beasts and plants in order to overcome their foes. These rangers dwell in the elder forests of the world. They venture out only rarely, as they consider it their sacred duty to protect the druidic groves and ancient trees that saw the earliest days of the world. #### Guardian Magic
*3rd-level Primeval Guardian feature*
You learn an additional spell when you reach certain levels in this class, as shown in the Guardian Spells table. *3rd-level Primeval Guardian feature*
Starting at 3rd level, you gain the ability to temporarily grow and take on the appearance of a treelike person, covered with leaves and bark. As a bonus action, you assume this guardian form, which lasts for 1 hour, until you end it as a bonus action or until you are incapacitated. You undergo the following changes while in your guardian form: - If you are smaller than Large, you become Large, along with anything you are wearing. If you lack the room to become Large, your size doesn't change. - Your speed is halved. - You have advantage on Strength checks and Strength saving throws. - Your reach increases by 5 feet. - You gain a number of temporary hit points equal to your Wisdom modifier at the start of each of your turns. When the form ends, you lose any temporary hit points you have from it. Once you use this feature, you must finish a short or long rest before you can use it again. At 11th level, you may use this feature twice between rests. #### Protective Thorns
*3rd-level Primeval Guardian feature*
At 3rd level, your command of primal magic warps enemies attacks with a shield of thorns. When you hit a creature with a melee attack, you mark them until the start of your next turn with a crown of thorns. Marked creatures have disadvantage on attacks against creatures that are not you, and when a marked creature hits a creature other than you with an attack, they take 1d6 piercing damage. #### Ancient Fortitude
*7th-level Primeval Guardian feature*
At 7th level, you gain the endurance of the ancient forests. When you are in your guardian form you gain a +2 bonus to your Armor Class and the number of temporary hit points you gain at the start of each of your turns doubles (twice your Wisdom modifier). #### Primeval Attunement
*7th-level Primeval Guardian feature*
Also at 7th level, your senses expand for a greater awareness of the land and it's denizens. The range of your Primeval Awareness increases to 6 miles (or 12 miles if it is your favored terrain), and lasts for 10 minutes. You also know the number of detected creatures present and the creature's general direction and distance (in mile) from you. > If you are using the optional **Primal Awareness** feature presented in *Tasha's Cauldron of Everything*, replace Primeval Attunement with the following feature: > > ##### Primal Attunement

> Also at 7th level, your magic is enhanced by your primal connection. You can cast each of Primeval Awareness spells twice without expending a spell slot, instead of once, before requiring a long rest to be able to cast it again. #### Rooted Defenses
*11th-level Primeval Guardian feature*
At 11th level, you gain the ability to twist and turn the ground beneath you. While you are in your guardian form, the ground within 30 feet of you is difficult terrain for your enemies. When you are in your guardian form you may also choose a number of creatures up to your proficiency bonus, these creature gain the benefits of half cover whilst within 30 feet of you. #### Guardian Aura
*15th-level Primeval Guardian feature*
Starting at 15th level, your guardian form emanates a magical aura that fortifies your allies. When any ally starts their turn within 30 feet of your guardian form, that ally gains a number of temporary hit points equal to your Proficiency Bonus.
