Bard: College of Strategy

Bards in the College of Strategy are most at home on the battlefield. Their words ring true with inspiration and authority, allowing them to lead their allies to victory with just the right words at the right time.

Bonus Proficiencies

When you join the College of Strategy at 3rd level, you gain proficiency with medium armor, shields, and martial weapons. You can use weapons you are proficient with as a spellcasting focus for your bard spells.

Field Orders

Also at 3rd level, your inspiring words can motivate others into action. When you grant a creature a Bardic Inspiration die, you can choose to grant them additional benefits by barking one of the following orders:

Reposition!

Your target can use their reaction to move up to their speed. Your target ignores difficult terrain during this movement, and this movement doesn't provoke attacks of opportunity.

Hold Fast!

Your target gains temporary hit points equal to one roll of your Bardic Inspiration die. These temporary hit points last for 1 minute, and when a creature regains hit points while they have them, they regain additional hit points equal to your Charisma modifier (minimum of 1).

Press the Attack!

Your target can add your Charsima modifier (minimum of 1) as a bonus to their next damage roll within the next minute.

Provide Support!

Your target can use their reaction to take the Help action. They can move up to half their speed before or after taking this action. During this movement, attacks of opportunity made against your target are made with disadvantage.

Evasive Maneuvers!

The next attack against your target within the next minute is made with disadvantage. If your target takes damage before the end of their next turn, they can use their reaction to reduce the incoming damage by one roll of your Bardic Inspiration die + your Charisma modifier (minimum of 1).

Stand Firm!

The next saving throw your target makes within the next minute is made with advantage.

Combat Leadership

Starting at 6th level, you can attack twice, instead of once, whenever you take the Attack action on your turn. Moreover, you can grant a creature a Bardic Inspiration die in place of one of those attacks, expending uses as normal.

Lead by Example

At 14th level, you have mastered the art of leading from the front, inspiring others through both your words and deeds.

When you roll a 20 on an attack roll or ability check, or when a creature you targeted with a spell rolls a 1 on their saving throw against that spell, you can grant a creature a Bardic Inspiration die without expending a Bardic Inspiration use as part of that action.
