The Empyrean Race
Spawned from the womb of the Mother Planet, Empyreans are born and sent out to other planets for the sole purpose of capturing and harvesting powerful creatures.
Born with the teachings of their mother, Empyreans will implant themselves within planets, acting as adventurers, politicians, royalty and religious figures. They use this 'camouflage' to garner followers, strong enough candidates for the Mother Planet to harvest. Once they have completed their mission, they will disappear from public eye, when in reality they've simply moved onto the next planet.
Empyreans are generally born as the predominant species of a planet to more easily blend in; but if sent prior to full maturity will shift into the first species they see.
Empyrean Traits
Your Empyrean character has the following racial traits.
Ability Score Increase. Your Strength score increases by 2, and your Constitution score increases by 1.
Age. As an Empyrean, you slow your aging processes as time passes. You reach maturity at approximately the same rate as the predominant species but live for approximately 1,000 years. Empyreans have the potential to live for thousands of years and still be in their physical prime.
Alignment. Empyreans are largely sent out to harvest strong creatures from planets. Tending to stick to a Lawful Neutral outlook on the inhabitants of their planet. Preferring to shift their alignment outwardly to attract creatures it poses an interest in. They hide their true nature and intentions just below the surface.
Speed. Your base walking speed is 35 feet.
Languages Empyreans innately speak the most common tongue of their planet as well as Empyrean.
Dark Vision You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light and in darkness as if it were dim light.
Born in a Vacuum. Empyreans can hold their breath for up to one week without breathing. Optionally, this can be used as a mechanical immunity to non-damaging heat and cold.
Godly Endurance When you are reduced to 0 hit points but not killed outright, you can drop to 1 hit point instead. You can’t use this feature again until you finish a long rest.
Flight. As means of returning to the Mother Planet, Empyreans eventually will gain the ability to fly. Starting at level eight, you have a flying speed equal to your walking speed. You gain twice your movement speed if flying in the vacuum of space.
Silver tongued. Empyreans need to lure their prey in to properly bring them home to the Mother Planet, preferably of their own 'will'. At level four, you gain proficiency in either Intimidation or Persuasion.
