## Oath of Malenia
Not all paladins seek to follow lives of prosperity and charity, wielding their arms for the common man. Some seek to hone their strength for a solitary person or cause, even if it means living ignobly and harnessing powers better left undisturbed.

#### Tenets of Malenia
Though the words may vary, paladins of this Oath share these tenets.

- **Never Know Defeat.** You will do whatever it takes, resorting to any foul means, to achieve victory, no matter how it stains you.
- **Consumed by Rot.** While you make use of rotten methods, you ensure the harm dealt is always less than what is done to yourself.
- **Meet Your Match.** Though victory is ever your goal, you are graceful in defeat, however rare.

#### Channel Divinity
*3rd-level Oath of Malenia feature*

You gain the following two Channel Divinity options.

- **Scarlet Aeonia.** As an action, you can raise your holy symbol and channel the power of rot, causing an immense, ethereal scarlet flower blossom around you. Each creature in a 15-foot radius centered on you must make a Constitution saving throw. On a failed save, a creature takes necrotic damage equal to your level in this class and is poisoned for a number of rounds equal to your proficiency bonus.

- **Waterfowl Dance.** As a bonus action, you can draw your holy symbol across your weapon, energizing your limbs with the speed of near death. The next time you take the Attack action, you can forgo adding your proficiency bonus to your attack rolls in order to make a number of additional attacks equal to your proficiency bonus.

#### Aura of Rot
*7th-level Oath of Malenia feature*

You can emit an aura of decay in a 10-foot radius. When a hostile creature enters your aura for the first time on a turn or starts its turn there, it takes necrotic damage equal to your Charisma modifier.

At 18th level, the aura’s range increases to 30 feet.

#### Vitality Leeching
*15th-level Oath of Malenia feature*

The rot in your veins leeches vitality from your foes. When you deal damage to a creature with a weapon attack, you regain hit points equal to 1d8 + your spellcasting modifier if you have no more than half of your hit points left.

#### Blade of Miquella
*20th-level Oath of Malenia feature*

You assume the visage of true horror that comes from being a paladin of Malenia. As a bonus action, you gain the following benefits for 1 minute:
- Your weapon attacks deal additional necrotic damage equal to your Charisma modifier.
- Other creatures provoke opportunity attacks from you when they enter your reach.
- You can use your Scarlet Aeonia Channel Divinity option a number of times equal to your Constitution modifier.
- You can use your Waterfowl Dance Channel Divinity option a number of times equal to your Dexterity modifier.

Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a long rest.
