Ritualist

Rituals are spells that sacrifice speed for ease. By tapping directly into the weave of magic, and manipulating it over a period of time, a spellcaster can cast a spell without needing to expend their own pool of arcane energy. This is a complicated process that requires innate knowledge of the inner workings of the spells.

Most wizards know how to do this, but some devote themselves to a more detailed study of this strain of magic. Taking notes from the works of Hags, cultists, and others, these wizards learn to control the weave of magic on a level that few other wizards manage to reach.

Expedited Ritual

When you choose this school at 2nd level, your mastery over the weave of magic allows you to carry small pockets of arcane energy along with you.

When you cast a spell with the ritual tag, you can choose to cast it as a ritual, but use the regular casting time. You can do this a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus. Uses of this feature are restored when you complete a long rest.

In addition, you learn one 1st level spell of your choice from the wizard spell list. This spell must have the ritual tag.

Ritual Adept

Ritual spells follow a sort of pattern, one which you have become familiar with. Beginning 6th level, you can now learn spells from any class's spell list, provided the spell has the ritual tag. These spells will count as wizard spells for you.

You also learn 2 spells with the ritual tag, of a level you can cast, from any class's spell list.

Greater Arcane Recovery

Beginning 10th level, you have learned how to apply your work in ritual spells to more general forms of magic. You now regain magical energy faster than other wizards can.

When you use your Arcane Recovery feature, you now regain a number of spell slots whose combined level is no greater than your wizard level.

Expedited Spells

You have studied how to better control the weave of magic, and have discovered another way to apply it to your regular spells. Now, when you cast a spell that normally takes a long time to complete, you can find shortcuts, speeding up your casting time.

At 14th level, when you cast a spell with a casting time of 1 minute or longer, you can choose to speed up the casting. The new casting time is a number of rounds equal to the number of minutes the spell normally takes to complete (minimum of 2 rounds).

Once you use this feature, you must complete a long rest before you can use it again.
