A mysterious man touches the blade of his enemy and turns it into currency. A woman sniffs the air and is able to locate the presence of treasure despite its crafty hiding spot. Think of what happened to your Midas, where they blessed or cursed with this ability? Do they seek to gain more power or to further understand their power?
Quick Build
You can make a Midas by quickly by following these suggestions: First make Strength your highest ability score followed by Dexterity and then Constitution. Third choose the Guild Artisan Background.
Class Features
As a Midas you gain the following class features.
Hit Points
Hit Dice: 1d8 per Midas Level Hit Points at 1st level: 8 + your constitution modifier Hit Points at Higher Levels: 1d8 (5) + your constitution modifier per Midas level after 1st.
Proficiencies
Armor: Light Armor, Medium , Shields
Weapons: Crossbows, Longswords, Battle Axe, Warhammer, Maul, Greatsword
Tools: Artisans Tools
Saving Throws: Dexterity, Wisdom
Skills: Choose two from Medicine, Animal Handling, Persuasion, Sleight of Hand
Equipment
You start with the following equipment, in addition to the equipment granted by your background:
- (a) Battle Axe or (b) Maul
- (a) scholar's pack or (b) explorer's pack
- (a) Studded leather and shield (b) Scale Armor with Light crossbow with 20 bolts
Midas Touched
Strength is your ability score when using your Midas abilities. In addition, you use your Strength modifier when setting the saving throw DC for Midas ability and when making an attack roll with one. Midas save DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Strength modifier
Midas attack modifier = your proficiency bonus + your Strength modifier
Attunement to Money - Your ties to currency has bewildered the natural laws of Magic and comprehension, by spending 1 coin worth of a certain currency you gain the following die rolls:
- Copper = 1d4
- Silver = 1d6
- Electrum = 1d8
- Gold = 1d10
- Platinum = 1d12
You can use a pouch of coins as an arcane focus.
Midas Points
Source of power by the Midas. Recharges on a short rest.
Coin Toss
You have learned how to throw money as deadly as darts. Depending on the type of currency you use roll the corresponding die as shown in the Attunement to Money die rolls list. Coin Toss costs one currency and is a bonus action. Use Strength modifier for attack damage rolls. Range is 30/60ft. For 1 Midas Points you may increase damage by the Attunement to Money chart shown.
At Level 2
Golden Nosed
The smell of treasure, such as currency and magical items, floods your nostrils like a strong odor. As a passive ability you are able to locate the location of treasure, such as the floor it is on, direction, and distance the valuables are from the party. Range of 600ft.
Coin Flip
You like trying your luck against specific odds. Once per short or long rest roll a die as found in the Attunement to Money chart and you gain the following effects:
- 1d4 = (1-2) You gain +2 to your attack roll. (3-4) You gain +4 to your attack roll.
- 1d6 = (1-3) You gain +4 to your attack roll. (4-6) You gain +8 to your attack roll.
- 1d8 = (1-4) You gain +1 to weapon damage rolls. (5-8) You gain +3 to weapon damage rolls.
- 1d10 = (1-5) You gain +2 to weapon damage rolls. (6-10) You gain +5 to weapon damage rolls.
- 1d12 = (1-6) You gain +4 to weapon damage rolls. (7-12) You gain +8 to weapon damage rolls.
You may store up to three Coin Flips for magical effects.
Midas Archetype
At 3rd level, you choose an archetype that details your Midas connection. Choose Investor or Broker, all detailed at the end of the class description. The archetype you choose grants you features at 3rd level and again at 7th, 10th, 15th, and 18th level
At Level 4
Ability Score Improvement When you reach 4th level, and again at 6th, 8th, 12th, 14th, 16th, and 19th level, you can increase one ability score of your choice by 2, or you can increase two ability scores of your choice by 1. As normal, you can’t increase an ability score above 20 using this feature.
Using the optional feats rule, you can forgo taking this feature to take a feat of your choice instead.
At Level 5
Midas Shield
You learn to form a wall of protective gold around you. As an reaction you have +2 to your AC. By spending 5 extra gp (or 1 Midas Point) you can increase the effect by an additional +1 AC. Total of +4. Usable once every long rest
Pay Day
As a bonus action when attacking a target you can roll a 1d12 to determine how much gold (Midas Points) you steal from the target.

Expertise
Choose two of your skill proficiencies, or one more of your skill proficiencies. Your proficiency bonus is doubled for any ability check you make that uses either of the chosen proficiencies.
At Level 11
Elemental Strike - By spending 1 currency (or 1 Midas Point) you add magical effects to your weapons as a bonus action, when making a (unarmed weapon) weapon attack you can spend a die of damage depending on the coin.:
- Copper - 1d4 Fire
- Silver - Silvers Weapon
- Electrum - 1d8 Electric
- Gold - 1d10 Radiant
- Platinum - 1d12 Force
At Level 12

Fiat Resource
When a creature attacks you you may turn their weapon into gold as a reaction. For 1 minute the creature has disadvantage on attack rolls for the duration. Only one creature can be under the effect of Fiat Resource at a time.
At Level 14
Follow Me
By spending 5 gp (2 Midas Points) you may force a creature to change its target to a target of your choice as a bonus action.

Penny Pincher
All abilities that cost 1 gold will instead cost one 1 copper to perform.
Investor
Investors are those blessed with the Midas touch who wish to help others.
Invest
You can use the help action without any cost to reaction, action, or bonus action.
At Level 7
You may transfer your Midas Shield to another creature of your choice as an reaction. Usable once per long rest.
At Level 10
You may transfer your results of Coin Flip to a creature of your choice as an action.
At Level 15
You may use your Elemental Strike to empower a target of your choice by your dice results using a reaction.
At Level 18
Vintage Shopper
As long as you have the currency you may exchange any amount for the equivalent weapon, armor, item whether it is magical or silvered. This effect lasts for 3 days. When time runs out the weapon, armor, item dissipates.
Broker
Brokers are notorious Midas users whom wish to show their power in battle whether it be through brute force or changing the battlefield to their desires.
Tax
As a bonus action you drain the gold from a target equal to your Midas save DC. If the target has no equivalent to the money they take 1d6 psychic damage instead
At Level 7
Contract
Any deal you make with an agreeing being must be adhered to and cannot be ignored.
Blood Money
Choose a target. The target must make a Charisma saving throw versus your Spell save DC for 4d8 force damage. On a successful roll the target takes half the damage. Range of 5ft. You can increase this attacks effect by 1d8 for every 10gp (2 Midas Points) spent.
At Level 10
Sheer Force
You double the effects of Coin Flip results.
At Level 15
You learn how to beat the currency out of targets. Any damage you deal is converted to half its value in gold coins for a maximum of 10gp
At Level 18
Midas Touch
You learn to turn any object of your choice into currency. For 3 minutes the object turns into its equivalent of currency for the duration. After 3 minutes the object returns to normal.
Starting gold for class is 6d4 x 10 gp. Note: Midas Points are tied to the Arcane focus of Midas which are coin pouches
Note: Changes: Coin Flip is only usable during a short or long rest. Shield is usable as a reaction once per long rest.
