Otherworldly Patron: The Inevitable (v.2)

You made a pact with one of the inevitables, mighty constructs from the plane of Mechanus that uphold universal laws and track down those who oppose order in any plane of existence. You follow the orders of a zelekhut, a mechanical centaur who hunts the unjust; a red-robed kolyarut who stalks oathbreakers; or a titanic marut, bringer of death to those who defy it. You might also follow the inevitables that protect the integrity of divinity and time, known as the varakhut and the quarut.

Your signing of this pact was predestined by fate, and it is now on you to uphold the whims of destiny. In the great order of Mechanus, you're considered an extension of your patron, acting to fulfill their duties, finding those who oppose law and bringing judgment upon them, sometimes directly, sometimes in obtuse ways only understood by the inevitables.

Expanded Spell List

1st-level Inevitable feature

The Inevitable lets you choose from an expanded list of spells when you learn a warlock spell. The following spells are added to the warlock spell list for you.

Inevitable Expanded Spells
Spell Level Spell
1st Detect Evil and Good, Guiding Bolt
2nd Branding Smite, Locate Object
3rd Clairvoyance, Crusader's Mantle
4th Locate Creature, Summon Construct
5th Banishing Smite, Circle of Power

Enforcer of Law

1st-level Inevitable feature

You acquire the skills necessary to enforce the laws of the universe on those who oppose them. You gain proficiency with medium and heavy armor, shields, and martial weapons. Additionally, you can use a shield or weapon that you have proficiency with as a spellcasting focus.

Unyielding Pursuer

1st-level Inevitable feature

Whenever you hit a creature with an attack you can choose to magically mark the creature as a transgressor against the laws of the universe. While the creature is marked, you can't have disadvantage on attack rolls against them. You always know in what plane of existence the marked creature is located, and if you're within 1 mile of them, you know their general direction in relation to yours. The mark lasts for 24 hours or until you use this feature again.

Once you use this feature you can't use it again until you finish a short or long rest.

Agent of Fate

6th-level Inevitable feature

Fighting on the side of destiny itself, your success is inescapable. When you or any creature you can see within 30 feet of you would make an attack roll, saving throw, or ability check, you can forgo rolling the d20 to get a 10 on the die.

You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.

Unstoppable Force

10th-level Inevitable feature

Your will is as strong as the power of fate. You have advantage on saving throws against being paralyzed, restrained or stunned. Additionally, moving through difficult terrain doesn't cost you extra movement.

In addition, if you are within 1 mile of a creature marked by your Unyielding Pursuer feature, you can use an action to teleport yourself and up to eight willing creatures within 30 feet of you, to the location of the target. Each creature appears in an unoccupied space within 30 feet of the marked creature. Doing this instantly ends the mark.

Cosmic Judgment

14th-level Inevitable feature

As an action, you can send a creature you can see that is marked by your Unyielding Pursuer feature, to be judged by the great inevitables. The creature must make a charisma saving throw against your spell save DC. On a failed save they take 60 lightning, slashing or bludgeoning damage (your choice), and are restrained until the end of your next turn, as spectral electrified chains, swords or iron fists descend upon them. On a successful save, the creature takes half as much damage and isn't restrained. If this damage reduces the creature to 0 hit points it falls unconscious and is teleported to the Hall of Concordance, or another similar place that upholds universal laws, to be put on trial by the forces of order.

Once you use this feature, you can’t use it again until you finish a long rest.
