Quill of the Poet

This animated quill shares a telepathic link with you and requires no ink to write. If you are within 5 feet of the quill, you can dictate a message of any length for it to write down on a writing surface of your choice, emulating your handwriting. You can also command the quill to erase any text it writes down, which it does so waving its feather over the text to be erased.

In addition to the above properties, the quill has 10 charges. While within 5 feet of the quill, you can use your action to expend 1 or more of its charges to cast one of the following spells using your spell save DC: bestow curse (5th-level version, 5 charges), geas (7 charges), modify memory (5 charges), Otto's irresistible dance (6 charges), suggestion (2 charges), or Tasha's hideous laughter (1 charge).

To expend a charge, the quill must have access to a writing surface. You can cast a spell from an unlimited range without having to see the target, provided you can dictate the target's name to the quill and you have seen how the target looks like. If a spell requires communication with the target, you can tell the quill to write down a message, which the targets hears in its mind if it fails its saving throw. A target that can't be detected with divination magic or perceived through magical scrying sensors cannot be targeted by this quill.

The quill regains 1d6 + 4 expended charges daily at dawn. If you expend the quill's last charge, roll a d20. On a 20, the quill burns up into a pile of ash and is destroyed.
