The Midnight Child

As a baby, The Midnight Child was left as the doors of a chapel, their parents seemingly abandoning them to be raised there, unfortunately, fate had other plans. The very same night, a cult stormed the church, the servants of Moloch felling every single person inside it's walls, however, when they found the babe at the entrance, instead of condemning it to the same fate as the others, they brought it with them.

The child was brought up in the cult, pledging allegiance to the hells at an early age, completing tasks from the shadows. The governor threatening to increase a towns military? Found dead the next morning. The cleric calling for harsher actions against the cult? Just a body in the river by the evening. All this secrecy made even easier due to their guise of a simple, unassuming child.

While the child prefers to stick to assassinations, offing people as they sleep, rather than getting into combat, should they get caught, they'll target the weakest members of groups first, using their Nimble Escape feature to weave straight to the back lines. They'll also use their Midnight Mark feature on the weaker targets, attempting to down at least one enemy, before escaping, in an attempt to slow their pursuers down.

Actions

Multiattack. The Midnight Child makes two melee or ranged attacks with their daggers.

Dagger. Melee or Ranged Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 5 ft. or range 20/60 ft, one target. Hit: 6 (1d6 + 3) slashing damage

Vanish (1/Day). The Child magically turns invisible until it attacks, up to 1 hour (as if concentrating on a spell). Any equipment The Child wears or carries is invisible with them.

Bonus Actions

Offhand Strike The Child can make a single dagger attack (as seen in actions).

Midnight Mark (3/Short or Long Rest). As a bonus action, The Child marks a creature within 30 feet of them that they can see, they can then chose to teleport to an unoccupied space within 5ft. of the target. When The Child or one of their allies hits a target with at least one mark with a melee attack, they can activate the mark to deal an extra 10 (2d4 + 1d10) necrotic damage per mark activated and healing 6 hit points.

Nimble Escape The Child can take the Disengage or Hide action as a bonus action on each of their turns.
