## Monolith ### Ancient people and alien beings dot our history like ink on a page and they leave behind their knowledge. Warlocks under this patron have willingly or unwittingly discovered a monolith of great power and fathomless knowledge. #### Expanded Spell List The Monolith lets you choose from an expanded list of spells when you learn a warlock spell. The following spells are added to the warlock spell list for you. ##### Monolith Spells | Spell Level | Spells | |:---:|:------------------------------------| | 1 | *command, detect magic* | | 2 | *calm emotions, detect thoughts* | | 3 | *blink, nondetection* | | 4 | *locate creature, Otiluke’s resilient sphere* | | 5 | *geas, legend lore* | #### Esoteric Knowledge Starting, at 1st level, you gain access to the unearthly language of Eldertongue. Eldertongue sounds like madding gibberish to any sane creature, but a creature under the effects of a madness-inducing spell or *hex* spell can understand it perfectly.
Additionally, you gain proficiency in 1 skill of your choice. #### Extract Knowledge Also, at 1st level, as a bonus action, you can overflow eldritch energy into a creature that you can see within 30 feet of you. That creature must make a Intelligence saving throw. On a failed save, the creature takes 1d10 psychic damage and you learn one of the following pieces of information; damage resistances, damage vulnerabilities, armor class, or current hit points.
You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Charisma modifier and regain all uses upon finishing a short or long rest. #### Extract Ability At 6th level, when you use your Extract Knowledge feature you delve deep into the creatures psyche and capture one of theirs talents. Until the end of your next turn you learn how to use one ability from that creatures statblock as determined by your DM. #### Protection of Obscurity At 10th level, you have been warded with obscured magic by your patron. When a creature makes a weapon or spell attack against you, you can as a reaction, force that creature to make a Wisdom saving throw. On a failed save, the creature must choose a new target or lose the attack or spell. If that creature fails the saving throw by 5 or more you are invisible to that creature until the end of your next turn.
You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Charisma modifier and regain all uses upon finishing a long rest. \columnbreak
#### Being from the Obelisk At 14th level, You contract with the monolith has reached its conclusion allowing you to bring forth the forbidden knowledge into physical form. You can cast the *summon aberration* spell as if it were cast with a 9th level spell slot. Once you use this feature, you can’t use it again until you finish a long rest
Additionally, if you kill a creature with your Extract Knowledge feature you gain the memories of that creature up to 24 hours before its death. \pagebreak
## Eldritch Invocations ### Monolith Shard *Prerequisite: Pact of the Chain, Monolith Patron*
You can choose a new form for your familiar, the Monolith Shard. Additionally, you learn the *mending* cantrip. ### Mark of the Monolith *Prerequisite: Pact of the blade, 3rd level Monolith Patron*
You can cast the *branding smite* spell using a warlock spell slot. ### Fathomless Voices *Prerequisite: Pact of the tome, Monolith Patron*
You learn the *message* cantrip and when you cast it from this feature you may only use the Eldertongue language and deals 2d10 psychic damage to creatures who cannot understand Eldertongue. ### Stolen Ability *Prerequisite: 18th level Monolith Patron*
When you use your Extract Ability feature you can choose to retain the learned feature until you finish your next long rest. When you do so, you lose access to your Extract Ability feature.
