Multiattack. Ghast attacks once with bite or twice with rear leg strikes per turn
Bite Melee Attack: +7 to to hit, 5' range, one target. Hit: 5d8+8 piercing damage.
Rear leg strike Melee Attack: +5 to to hit, 10' range, one target. Hit: 3d8+4 piercing damage.
Horrify If the Ghast has less than half its hit points remaining, it can emit horrifying scream and countenance. Any creature within 30' must make a DC 12 roll or become frightened of the Ghast. It can do this once, each time its HP drops below half.
Reactions
Deathly Embrace If a creature provokes an opportunity attack from the Ghast, the Ghast can attempt to grapple the creature with an Athletics check of +6. If it succeeds, the creature takes 1d8 bludgeoning damage and 2d8+16 psychic damage, due to the terrifying experience. The creature must succeed on a DC 15 Athletics or Acrobatics check at the start of the creature's subsequent turns or remain grappled and continue to take the damage rolls above. While grappling, the Ghast can attack with kicks and biting per normal, but its movement is reduced by half.
Tactics
Ghasts of Souls attack in packs of 2 or more, and generally try to gain a surprise round by sneaking up on unsuspecting parties exploring the Sea of Souls.
