*All medium and heavy armors require a gambeson underlay. If you already possess a gambeson you can subtract 15 gp from the cost when purchasing a suit of medium or heavy armor.
†Heavy armor can be upgraded to the next tier up for the difference in cost. For example, a blacksmith can upgrade a cuirass to a suit of half plate for a cost of 360 gp.

Armor Revisions
If you didn't notice with the fanfare and the fancy names, most of these armors grant the same benefits as Armors found in the Player's Handbook, though their costs, weights, or properties range in differences.
Medieval Armor Descripts
See the Player's Handbook.
Renaissance Armor Descriptions
The following armor types have these descriptions.
Brigandine (Half-Plate). Brigandine is a sturdy coat of layered linen or leather lined with small steel plates riveted to the fabric.
Cuirass (Chain Mail). A type of armor formed of a single or multiple pieces of metal that cover the torso. A cuirass generally refers to both a chest plate and back piece together.
Gambeson (Leather). A gambeson is a padded defensive jacket, either worn separately or as an underlay for heavier types of armor. It can also double as a winter coat.
Half Plate (Splint). Half plate consists of shaped metal plates that cover most of the wearer’s body. It does not include leg Protection beyond simple greaves that are attached with leather straps. Flexible chain mail protects the joints.
Hauberk (Breastplate). A hauberk is a shirt of mail that reaches at least to mid-thigh and includes sleeves.
Lamellar (Scale Mail). This is a type of body armor made from small rectangular plates (scales or lamellae)
Leather Jerkin (Studded Leather). A leather jerkin is a person's short close-fitting jacket, made usually of light-coloured leather, and often without sleeves, worn over the doublet in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries.
Mail Shirt (Chain Shirt). Made of interlocking metal rings, a chain shirt is worn between layers of clothing or leather. This armor offers modest protection to the wearer’s upper body and allows the sound of the rings rubbing against one another to be muffled by outer layers.
Primeval Armor Descriptions
The following armor types have these descriptions.
Bone. This armor is a woven mesh of bones and animal teeth, typically worn by primeval tribesmen. Although macabre, some cultures consider it an honor to use the bones of opponents that have fallen in battle. Creating bone armor requires a trained craftsman and can take days to design a custom-designed set for a warrior.
Wicker. This armor is comprised of woven reeds that form a protective vest for the torso, and sometimes arm and leg guards. Although not very protective, it is cheap and simple to manufacture and is relatively lightweight.
Shield Descriptions
The following shield types have these descriptions.
Small Shield. Otherwise known as Arm Shields or Bucklers, these shields are lightweight and often held in the fist or strapped to the forearm of its wielder. Small shields are often made entirely from metal.
Medium Shield / Shield. Popular variants come in the forms of Heater Shields, Round Shields, or the Aspis. These shields provide the most protection without impeding the movement or mobility of its wielder. Medium shields are made from any variety of metal or wooden materials, including a mix such as metal bands with a wooden center.
Large Shield. Otherwise known as Door Shields, Tower Shields, or Shield-Walls (Roman Scutum for example). These shields provide the greatest ratio of body-to-shield ratio, but are unwieldy and hinder the mobility of its wielder. Large shields are made from metal or wooden materials, and it's because of these heavy, weighty materials that there are disadvantages to wielding the Large Shield.
Armor Properties
The "Properties" column in the Revised Armor table replaces
Disadvantage (Stealth). You have disadvantage on Dexterity (Stealth) checks while wearing this armor.
Special (Large Shield). You can't make Opportunity Attacks while holding this shield. Additionally, your base walking speed is reduced by 5 feet.

Modern Armor Descriptions
The following armor types have these descriptions.
Heavy Coat. A really thick and padded coat.
Leather Jacket. A rad jacket, preferably with a sick flaming skull on the back.
Light Undercover Shirt. Padded weave that protects the wearer's chest from gunfire.
Kevlar-Lined Coat. A coat sewn from kevlar, a heat resistant and strong synthetic fiber.
Undercover Vest. A lightweight and fine-weaved vest, which is lightweight on the user and offers ample protection.
Concealable Vest. The concealable vest, made from strong synthetic material can also be hidden underneath normal clothing.
Light-Duty Vest. Padded with pockets to keep equipment and fiber-padded.
Tactical Vest. A vest commonly worn by elite military personnel.
Special Response Vest. Full body fiber armor, effectively like modern splint armor.
Land Armor. The strange prototype armor fashioned and mass-produced before the invention of the F.E.U.
Forced Entry Unit. Used in bulk by heavy infantry, that offers the best defensive options money can buy.
Riot Shield. An almost full-body shield that commonly has a bullet-proof glass cover for visibility and has a porthole to shoot firearms through.
A Note on Damage Subtypes
The following damage types are broken up into separate main and subtype damage types. In game terms, a main damage type counts as its subtype, but the subtype does not count as the main damage type. This would mean all piercing damage would count as ballistic damage, but not all piercing damage counts as ballistic damage. Magical effects or creature properties that grant resistance to the main damage type also apply to the subtype, but effects or properties reducing the subtype do not automatically apply to the main type.
Main | Subtype |
---|---|
Piercing | Ballistic |
Slashing | Shredding |
Cold | Frost |
Radiant | Fire |
Force | Nuclear |
Lightning | Static |
Thunder | Sonic |

Futuristic Armor Descriptions
The following armor types have these descriptions.
Ballistic Fiber. Advanced nanofibers that can easily masquerade as any common clothing or material. A creature doesn't even need proficiency in any armor to utilize Ballistic Fibered clothing as long as they wear it.
Pla-Plastic Suit. Mass-produced, cheaply affordable, and easy to brand armor designed for henchmen in the far-flung future.
Nanoweave Suit. Skin-tight nanoweave that offers maximum protection to its wearer fashioned from material that can stop bullets. Easily concealable under any clothing or other equipment.
Powered Half-Plate. Effectively like regular half-plate, but made as if it was powered armor, with heavier, denser armor plates.
Q-Aspect Armor. Quintessence Armor appears as a strange pinkish-purplish suit of armor that commonly includes a chestplate and helmet, with uncommon bracers for the arms or legs (psionics don't need those). The armor moves constantly, almost as if it was under a psychedelic effect, however it is still almost as hard as diamond, and is permanently smooth and unscratched.
Energy Arm-Shield. Commonly manufactured as a bracer or hand-held guard that projects an energy shield that only protects a portion of the wearer's body. With less surface to project, the shield offers greater defense.
Properties
Futuristic Armor have special futuristic properties.
Advantage (Stealth). You have advantage on Dexterity (Stealth) checks while wearing this armor.
Powered Half-Plate
Powered Half-Plate is an uncommonly manufactured type of armor. Powered by an Arcana shard rather than the stocky Arcana core of full Power Armor, Powered Half-Plate provides a smidgen of the magical benefits in comparison. You gain the following benefits while wearing powered half-plate.
- Your Strength score becomes 19, unless your Strength is already higher.
- Powered Half-Plate is considered magical armor, and it functions even in an antimagic field.
Damage Reduction. While you are wearing this armor, you gain damage reduction, which means the damage you take from damage type(s) is reduced by the amount listed. Powered Half-Plate gains this damage reduction against all damage, except psychic.
Q-Aspect Armor
Q-Aspect Armor, or "Quintessence" Aspect Armor is "manufactured" by psionics for use by Scion or Psychic-type Warriors, though with the proper training, any intellectual can get the hand of wearing it. Fashioned from Psykometal, the armor reacts to the wearer to allow excellent movement and articulation, while instantly hardening against impacts or attacks.
You must be Psi-Sensitive or a Psionic to be considered proficient with this armor.
You gain the following benefits while wearing Q-Aspect Armor:
Damage Reduction. While you are wearing this armor, you gain damage reduction, which means the damage you take from damage type(s) is reduced by the amount listed. Q-Aspect Armor gains this damage reduction against all damage.
Energy Arm-Shield
Energy Shields are a staple of the sci-fi future. The Biolance Energy Arm-Shield is a handheld device that protects a fair portion of the user's body against most attacks.
Damage Reduction. The Energy Arm-Shield gains this damage reduction against all damage, except psychic.
Gravitonnic Arm-Shield
Otherwise known as the Horizon Shield, the Gravitonnic Arm-Shield utilizes graviton magic to redirect and suppress impacts from otherwise deadly attacks.
--- FUTURISTIC POWER ARMOR ---
Power Armor
Cost (GP) | Armor | Armor Class (AC) | Properties |
---|---|---|---|
100,000 | Mark IV Heronnar Power Armor | 20 | Special DR/10, Mighty Frame |
Power Armor
Power Armor is featured in the Biolance Campaign, set thousands of years into the future.
Power Armor is manufactured from rare metals, plasteel, and is a solid smaller, lest costly alternative to a full Mech Suit. Under hundreds or thousands of pounds, weighted from articulate armor plating, engine and mechanical components, and a crackling Arcana core that is set into a backpack brace and cooling system.
Power Armor Requirements
To wear and use Power Armor, you must have:
- Proficiency in Heavy Armor.
- An Intelligence of 11 or higher.
It takes 1 hour to put on Power Armor, unless you are helped by creatures who also have proficiency in Mech Suits, in which case the time is halved (incrementally for every creature that assists, halved until a minimum time of 10 minutes, done by 3 creatures).
You also require a Machining Kit to put on or take off Power Armor.
Power Armor Benefits
While wearing Power Armor, you gain the following benefits:
- Your size becomes Large.
- Your Strength score becomes 21, unless your strength is already higher.
- Your Speed increases by 10 feet.
- Your unarmed strikes deal 1d12 bludgeoning damage.
- Your jumping distance triples.
- The armor can't be removed against your will, and it expands to cover your entire body, although you can retract or deploy the helmet/visor as a bonus action. The armor replaces any missing limbs, functioning identically to a body part it is replacing.
- Powered Armor is considered magical and it and any upgrades it has continues to function even in an antimagic field.
If Heavy Armor was loud, clunky, and deafening, that turns up to 10 with Power Armor. You have disadvantage on Dexterity (Stealth) checks and additionally have a -10 Penalty to those checks as well.
Primary Life Support System
Within Power Armor, there are several systems in place that allow a creature to survive the elements while within its interior, as long as the suit remains powered.
- A regulated air current flows through the armor, and provides air to breathe.
- You have advantage on saving throws against being poisoned, and are immune to nonmagical poisonous gas (poison damage or poisoned condition).
- You have a two-way communicator that can tramsit radio or connect to the ethernet. It grants you features as if you had a computer installed in your helmet.
Power Armor Properties
Additional Power Armor properties can be added or upgraded as needed, with a following list TBD. Currently the following properties exist:
Damage Reduction / DR
While you are wearing power armor, you gain damage reduction, which means the damage you take from the damage type(s) is reduced by the amount listed.
Mark IV Heronnar. Heronnar is arcanically enchanted armor. It gains this damage reduction against all damage.
