The Wyrm
Dragons earn their fearsome and respected reputation not by being massive and strong, or by exhaling pure destructive power, or by having skin and scales as tough as steel. Other creatures are mighty and terrible as well. A dragon earns the awe of the common folk and the fascination of the wise by backing up that strength with keen intellect and shrewd cunning. They have centuries to develop themselves into some of the most formidable beings in the world.
Dragons of all types may take on followers, for a variety of reasons. A metallic dragon may appreciate the curiosity and bravery of a mortal seeking them out. A chromatic dragon may be interested in a capable and circumspect servant to further their goals.
Wyrm Variety
1st-level Wyrm feature
Though united in their majesty and power, dragons vary in their abilities and dispositions. Choose the color of your patron or determine it randomly using the Wyrm Variety table. You gain the following benefits based on your patron:
Draconic Clarity. Your patron's age and wisdom inspire you. You can speak, read, and write Draconic. You have advantage on saving throws to avoid or end the charmed condition on yourself, if your patron is metallic, or the frightened condition, if your patron is chromatic.
Draconic Fury. Destructive power flows through you. You have resistance to the damage type associated with your patron. In addition, once on each of your turns when you damage a target with an attack or spell, you can choose to deal an extra 1d4 damage of this type to the target. If the attack or spell already dealt damage of this type, the damage die increases by one size, such as from a d4 to a d6 or a d10 to a d12. The default size of this die increases when you reach certain levels in this class, increasing to a d6 at 6th level, a d8 at 10th level, and a d10 at 14th level.

Scale Herald's Presence
6th-level Wyrm feature
Your arrival signals the impending awe and terror of a dragon, as surely as a winged silhouette in the sky.
You constantly emanate an aura of intimidating draconic power while you're not incapacitated. The aura extends 10 feet from you in all directions, but not through total cover.
When a creature you can see starts their turn in this aura or enters the aura for the first time on a turn, you can force them to make a Wisdom saving throw against your spell save DC. On a failed save, a creature becomes frightened of you for 1 minute. The frightened creature can repeat this saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success. If a creature succeeds on this saving throw or the effect ends for it, they are immune to this effect for 24 hours.
You can force creatures to make this saving throw a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a short or long rest.
In addition, you have blindsight within the area of this aura, allowing you to effectively see anything that isn't behind total cover, even if you're blinded or in darkness. Moreover, you can see an invisible creature within that range, unless the creature successfully hides from you.
The range of this aura increases to 15 feet at 10th level, 20 feet at 14th level, 25 feet at 18th level, and to 30 feet at 20th level.
Dragon's Wrath
10th-level Wyrm feature
A dragon is always eager to eliminate those who would challenge it. When you take damage, you can use your reaction to force each creature of your choice that you can see within the area of your Scale Herald's Presence to make a Dexterity saving throw. On a failed save, a creature takes damage equal to one roll of the damage die used by your Draconic Fury, of the type associated with your patron. If the triggering damage was dealt by a frightened creature, the damage die for this damage increases by one size, such as from a d8 to a d10 or from a d10 to a d12.
In addition, when a hostile creature within the area of your Scale Herald's Presence takes damage of the type associated with your patron, any resistance to that damage type is ignored.
Blessing of the Scale Lord
14th-level Wyrm feature
You possess a measure of the mental and physical power embodied by dragons:
- You gain immunity to the damage type associated with your patron.
- If your patron is metallic, you gain immunity to the charmed condition.
- If your patron is chromatic, you gain immunity to the frightened condition.
Honorary Wyrm
14th-level Wyrm feature
Your allegiance to your draconic patron has granted you the right to count yourself a dragon, not only in name.
As an action, you can take on a form reminiscent of your patron. You transform into a dragon whose color is the same as your patron, and whose CR is equal to or lower than your warlock level, as if by the true polymorph spell. When you transform this way, the duration is 10 minutes and it does not require concentration.
When you reach 20th level, you can use this feature to transform into an ancient dragon of the same color as your patron, even if their CR is higher than your warlock level.
Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish 2d4 long rests.
