Within the last several generations however, a new breed of sahuagin has started to emerge. Although no less deadly than their fellow brethren, these latest mutations strip a sahuagin of their innate connection to Sekolah, God of Sharks. Instead, these sahuagin are evolving to be better adapt at life outside water, though they still remain most comfortable beneath the waves. Those sahuagin who are predisposed towards adventuring tend to know the value of negotiating with other aquatic races when necessary. ### Sahuagin Traits As a sahuagin, you have the following traits. ***Creature Type.*** You are a Humanoid. ***Size.*** You are Medium. ***Speed.*** Your base walking speed is 30 feet, and you have a swimming speed of 30 feet. ***Amphibious.*** You can breathe air and water. ***Bite.*** Your teeth-lined maw is a natural weapon, which you can use to make unarmed strikes. If you hit with it, you deal piercing damage equal to 1d6 + your Strength modifier, instead of the bludgeoning damage normal for an unarmed strike. ***Darkvision.*** You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can't discern color in darkness, only shades of gray. ***Predators of the Depths.*** Adapted to even the most extreme ocean depths, you have resistance to cold damage. ***Killer Instinct.*** You possess an uncanny instinct for moving in for the kill at the most opportune moment. As a bonus action, you can give yourself advantage on an attack roll to bite any creature that doesn't have all its hit points. You can use this trait a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest. __ ##### Image Credits * ***D&D Watercolor Stains.*** Jared Ondricek ([watercolors.giantsoup.com](https://watercolors.giantsoup.com/)) * ***Sahuagin.*** Conceptopolis ([conceptopolis.com](https://conceptopolis.com/)) * ***Underwater Ruins.*** Juhani Jokinen ([artofjokinen.com](http://www.artofjokinen.com/))
