Pact Boon

Pact of the Portrait

You gain The Portrait. This item is a painting in the likeness yourself, in your most beautiful form. It resembles a normal oil painting in a frame sized 14" by 18" and weighs 20lbs.

The Portrait has an AC of 10 and has hitpoints equal to five times your Warlock level. Anytime The Portrait takes damage, you take double the damage received. If The Portrait is ever fully destroyed, you can ask your patron for a replacement during a long rest.

This painting is a physical symbol of your pact with your patron. While the painting is not destroyed, it ages in place of yourself. Meaning you can not die of old age. This effect persists as long as you return to within 100ft of The Portrait at least once every seven days. Failure to do so reverses any effects the portrait bestows.

Your sins are also reflected in the painting. As you commit deeds that are either inherently immoral, or against the wishes of your patron (Consult you DM) those sins appear in The Portrait. For example, if you commit murder, perhaps the blood of that person appears on The Portrait's hands instead of the Warlock's themselves.

This has a direct tie to the character's alignment. As their alignment shifts towards the Evil nature, The Portrait may change to reflect that, or vice versa with a shift towards the Good alignment. Consult your DM for how you want this feature to work with your character, and all things regarding The Portrait are up to the DM's discretion.

Invocations

Self Reflection

Prerequisite: pact of the portrait

You can cast mirror image once without using a warlock spell slot. You can't do so again until you finish a long rest.

Obsessive Blast

Prerequisite: 5th level, pact of the portrait, Eldritch Blast cantrip

If you hit a creature with 2 bolts from your eldritch blast cantrip that creature is charmed by you until the start of your next turn.

Pet Painting

Prerequisite: 5th level, pact of the portrait

You can paint the figure of a beast with a CR equal to or lower than your proficiency bonus over the course of a long rest. This figure can be called forth from the portrait and functions as if it was summoned via the find familiar spell. If the beast is killed it returns to the portrait. You can only have 1 pet portrait at once.

Crown of the Mad King

Prerequisite: pact of the portrait

You can cast the crown of maddness spell without using a warlock spell slot. You can't do so again until you finish a long rest.

Alternatively, you can crown yourself. When you do this you lose control of yourself attacking the closest creature to you on each of your turns for the duration of the spell. Your weapon attacks deal additional psychic damage equal to your Charisma modifier. You can't do so again until you finish a long rest.

Self Portrait

Prerequisite: pact of the portrait

You can cast mirror image, without expending a spell slot or material components. You can't do so again until you finish a long rest.
