Barbarian:
Path of the Marauder
Say a prayer, sail away, sing a shanty, loot and slay!
Cursed by their greed, the undying Marauders seek to plunder all. Their dance is endless, their shanties riotous.
Marauders adore freedom, often found in the tempestuous seas. Not all become one by choice however, for there's plenty of cursed gold in the depths, awaiting unsuspecting pioneers and adventurers. What riches seduced your hands, Captain?
Marauder Features
Barbarian Level | Feature |
---|---|
3rd | Black march, Twilight veil |
6th | Silent seas |
10th | Beasties of the crew |
14th | Deathless dance |
Twilight veil
3rd level Marauder feature
The curse is complete, your rotting form apparent. Your type changes to Undead, in addition to your original. You no longer need food, air, or water, and you gain immunity to exhaustion.
As an action, you can adopt the illusion of the form you had in life, which lasts until you lose concentration (as if concentrating on a spell) or are in direct moonlight.
The Black march
3rd level Marauder feature
Hoist the black and embrace the curse, tell the dead man's tale. While raging, you summon the spirits of the drowned in a 10ft radius around you. When a creature begins its turn in the area, you can force it to make a wisdom saving throw or be frightened until the beginning of its next turn
(DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Constitution modifier).
Silent seas
6th level Marauder feature
The black sea calls, and its silence is stifling. When a creature fails its save against black march, it is also blinded and deafened to all but you for the duration, as it sees only you, itself, and an endless expanse of black waters.
Beasties of the crew
10th level Marauder feature
What is a pirate without their first mate? You can cast the find familiar and the find steed spells as rituals. Creatures summoned by you gain your twilight veil feature, and temporary hit points equal to your barbarian level.
Deathless dance
14th level Marauder feature
Your rage is revelry, accompanied by those who fell to the curse before you. When you enter rage, you can summon 1d4 skeletons or zombies within 10ft of you. They obey your verbal commands, and take their turns immediately after yours.
These undead gain a bonus to their damage rolls equal to your rage damage, and they dissolve into sea water when your rage ends.
