The Mountain King

You have struck a bargain with a powerful entity of the dark realms beneath ground. This entity might be the spirit of an ancient and powerful dwarven king, an elemental lord of earth or even a mountain which has gained a semblance of sentience. Regardless of their identity, your patron is a lumbering, unstoppable force of sheer might and will. Serving as their extension, you similarly become resilient and unyielding, both physically and mentally.

Mountain King Expanded Spells

The Mountain King lets you choose from an expanded list of spells when you learn a warlock spell. The following spells are added to the warlock spell list for you

Mountain king Expanded Spells
Spell Level Spells

2nd Enlarge/Reduce, Warding Bond
3rd Aura of Vitality, Spirit Guardians
4th Fire shield, Stoneskin
5th Circle of Power, Destructive wave

Starting at 1st level, the Mountain King bestows upon you a glorious and lush beard, which acts as both your armor and source of magic.

Additionally, your become equally stubborn outside the heat of battle. You gain proficiency in intimidation, persuasion.

Unbreakable Mantle

At 1st level, the resilience of the mountain flows through you. As an action, you beard grows sturdy as bedrock, granting additional defense. You gain the following benefits

  • You gain resistance to non-magical bludgeoning, piercing and slashing damage
  • As an action, you can force all creatures of your choice within 10 feet of you to roll a Dexterity saving throw against your spell save DC. On a failed save they take 1d4 cold or fire damage (your choice). The damage increases to 2d4 at 6th level, 3d4 at 10 level and 4d4 at 14th level.
  • As an action, you cover yourself with a thin granite shell, gaining temporary HP equal to half your warlock level

Your Mantle lasts for 1 minute. It ends early if you are incapacitated or die. You can also end your Mantle on your turn as a bonus action. Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a short or long rest

Volatile Core

At 6th level, your beard grows even more illustrious. Your beard now functions as a shield for you, granting you +2 AC. You still benefit from your Stoneborn gift while you have this shield. You can still only benefit from one shield at any time.

Additionally, when a creature takes damage as part of your Unbreakable Mantle, their walking speed is reduced by 10 feet if they took cold damage, or their next attack before the end of their turn has disadvantage if they took fire damage

Tempered Shell

Starting at 10th level, your beard shield is now considered a +1 shield for you, granting a total of +3 AC.

Your endurance allows you to use your Unbreakable Mantle feature a second time before needing to rest. You regain all uses after finishing a short or long rest.

Pillar of the world

At 14 level, you become one with the foundations of the earth. While in your Unbreakable Mantle, you can't be knocked prone or shoved by any means. Additionally, while your Mantle is active, you can use a bonus action to target a willing creature within 30 feet of you.

The creature gains the full benefits of your Unbreakable Mantle until your Mantle ends, you use a bonus action to transfer it to another willing creature within 30 feet or you end it as a bonus action.

Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a long rest.
