The Cube
The Cube is a race of experimentally altered humanoids whose origins are speculated to be tied to the Netherese super soldier project, Mind flayer biological alteration or some kind of dark ritual. Although mostly resembling a human the cube poses a few features unique to them. For example, their eyes are lightly bioluminescent, their joints can bend at unnatural angles and their teeth can be extremely pointy.
Every Cube has a core in the place of the heart. The core is a power source and provides cohesion for the rest of the body. One could say that it's a place where the cube's soul resides. If by any chance it is removed The rest of the body will turn into elementary particles, over a few seconds leaving only the dust behind. This process does not necessarily kill the cube though. The core can be placed either into a humanoid host or a sufficient mixture of organic matter. It will then start to reconstruct its original body over an 8 hour period.
A Heartless Bunch
The Cube are often loners and usually are not the greatest at human interaction. They have a hard time grasping concepts like emotions and attachment. They generally lack empathy and are apathetic towards the pain and harm of others since they can't really feel physical pain the same way normal humanoids do.
The Cube tends to get fascinated with a particular person or a group of people, an activity, or anything really and will show an almost uncharacteristic enthusiasm, interest or even affection towards it. Usually, they themselves are confused by their feelings and are highly protective of their source of emotion. The Cube can sometimes be greatly influenced by it.
Society And Ancestry
The Cube don't create big communities and tend to gravitate towards mercenary work. The Cube can reproduce like normal humanoids, but instinctively prefer to construct their offspring with a part of their core. The process will end with a new Cube being born, but due too the violent nature of their growth and birth the mother usually dies, if she is not a Cube herself, even if healing spells and treatments are involved.
Cube Names
The names are usually minimalistic and reflect Cube's lack of interest in such matters. The Cube often adopts nicknames usually given to them by selected individuals The Cube trusts or is fascinated by.

Cube Traits
All Cubes are masters of combat and art of war.
Ability Score Increase. Your Constitution score increases by 2, and one different ability score increases by 1
Age. The Cube mature and reach adulthood much like humans, but usually live a little over 200 years, although some can live to be even 400 Years old.
Size. Your size is Medium, and the height of The Cubes can range from around 4 feet to high 6 feet at full maturity.
Languages. You can speak, read, and write Common and one other language of your choice.
Speed. Your base walking speed is 30 feet.
Augmented Vision. Your eyes are extraordinary at interpreting stimuli. You have an advantage at perception and investigation checks that rely on sight.
Alignment. Cubes tend to be more neutral in nature, but can be considered evil by some.
Living Weapon. The Cube can reconstruct its tissue to create tools or weapons such as blades or slashing tendrils that deal 1d6 + your Dex mod slashing damage on hit in melee and are considered finesse weapons. Tendrils can be also used non offensively to attach to various objects at a range of 15 ft and can support your weight.
Inner plating. Due to your core changing your inner structure you can withstand a lot of punishment. Your base AC is 13 + your Con modifier. A shield's benefits apply as normal while you use your natural armor.
Matter Reconstruction. The Cube can use its core to reshape non-organic material into desired simple items like changing scrap metal into ball barrings or using it to mend broken items. The process takes an hour per cubic foot of material but can be accelerated to one action at a cost of one level of exhaustion. The item can't be worn or carried by a hostile creature.
The Core. The core can reconstruct The Cube's body with biomass and provides nourishment from almost any biological material. When you roll a hit die to regain hit points, you add your Constitution modifier to the roll twice instead of once. and you can regrow lost body parts at a cost of 4 hit die per limb, but when you are struck by a critical hit you need to make a DC 15 Constitution Saving throw or suffer an extra 1/2 of the damage as your core gets damaged.
