Druid Circle

Circle of the Grove

Circle Spells

2nd-level Circle of the Grove feature

You gain circle spells at the druid levels listed in the Circle of the Grove Spells table.

You always have these spells prepared, they don’t count against the number of spells you can prepare each day, and they count as druid spells for you.

Circle of the Grove Spells

Druid Level Spells
2nd Ensnaring Strike, Entangle
3rd Barkskin, Spike Growth
5th Plant Growth, Speak with Plants
7th Black Tentacles (appears as a plant), Grasping Vine
9th Awaken, Wrath of Nature

Bloom

2nd-level Circle of the Grove feature

As an action, you summon a Vicious Shrub in an unoccupied space within 60ft of you.

When the shrub is summoned, you decide its type from the following; Vineling, Spiker, or Ploomer. Each type has its own features as seen in the Vicious Shrub stat block. After 1-minute or when it drops to 0 hit points, the shrub disappears.

The Vicious Shrub is an ally to you and your companions. In combat, it shares your initiative count, but it takes its turn immediately after yours. The shrub will use its action to attack the nearest hostile creature, if none are nearby it will take the dodge action.

The number of Vicious Shrubs created as an action by this feature increases to 2 at 6th level, and 3 at 14th level. When you summon more than one shrub, you decided the location and type for each.

You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Proficiency Bonus, regaining all expended uses by finishing a long rest.

Germinate

6th-level Circle of the Grove feature

You learn the Conjure Animals spell, which doesn’t count against the number of spells you can prepare each day.

Additionally, when you cast Conjure Animals you can choose to summon plant type creatures instead of beasts.

Harvest

10th-level Circle of the Grove feature

When a creature within 60ft of you is reduced to 0 Hit Points, you can use your reaction to cause a Vicious Shrub to sprout from their corpse (you decide its type).

You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Wisdom modifier, regaining all expended uses when you finish a long rest.

Resprouting

14th-level Circle of the Grove feature

If you die by any means other than old age, your corpse transforms into an Enraged Vicious Shrub (you choose the type).

Enraged Vicious Shrubs functions like a regular Vicious Shrub, but its total Hit Points are equal to twice your druid level, can attack twice per turn, and acts as you would.

If the Enraged Visious Shrub survives for 1-minute, you return to life with 1 Hit Point. If it dies, the transformation ends. Once used, this feature cannot be used again until you finish a long rest.
